Hi all;
I have a new-to-me SR 220 Select with 5.0 Bravo III. 115 hours. Looks and runs great. This weekend I got a beep and a Check Engine message on my smart gauge. It starts rough and needs some throttle to get going. It will stall at idle if I don't feather the throttle. Once I get going on plain it runs great. but it beeps once every couple of minutes. Oils are at level, temperatures and pressures within limits.
I've read about a common IAC valve issue. I took mine off to see if it need cleaning but it is spotless inside. It looks absolutely new. It's painted black like the motor so I believe it is original.
I'm going to take it into the mechanic as soon as I can to get properly checked but I thought I'd ask here if this sounds like something common that I can repair myself.
bty, I boat in the upper niagara river so I can't afford to be testing anything out on the water. It needs to be in best condition possible.
Cheers.
