changing transmission fluid

Very informative thread! I am changing my fluid for the first time in 6 years. I just now have 100 hrs, but I did read in the manual to change every 3 years or 100 hours. Will try to not to forget next time. I ordered the filters from michigan motors on ebay for $48 each. Dealer wanted $160 each! I thought about trying to wash the old filters with mineral spirits, but since they have been in there so long I think it would be best to change them.
Thanks for posting this.

Once you change them, you will realize that the old ones are fine - they are a metal filter - more like a metal fragment catcher. Clean them up and use them during the next oil change. This way, you can do the change without rushing yourself to re-cycle the old filters. You can take them home, clean them up, and let them dry out for the next change.

Called the mfg.

Where are my filters located?

There are none.

NO filters on mine?

Yup!

ON PURPOSE?

Yup!

I am having an OSH!T moment wondering if I should install some inline, but it had to be done for a reason. Hell the Velvet 5000's are over $1200 more each than the nearest competitor.

I bought my ZF filters here for $47 each:
