Just bought some Cetol Marine Gloss for the first time. From reading some of your posts i decided this was the way to go. My question is on the back of the can it reads, "Do not use Cetol Marine Gloss by itself, But always in conjunction with Cetol Marine or Cetol Marine Light." I was thinking i could just clean my teak and put this on. This stuff aint cheap and i dont want to screw it up! Thanks for any advise. I added an attachment of the can for reference.

Sounds like its for top coat only.
I would not use it.
The marine light has a semi gloss color to it.
First time ever using this product.

If your outdrive has a lifting eye on the topcap. It is Pre Alpha

Cetol Marine is what my brother used on my Teak and it is amazing. Alot of work (teak) but very worth it. As for the outdrive, Its most likely an MR drive. I've got an 80 Ex Cruiser with this set up.

Well, i went back to west marine and the gloss and the satin was all they stock and they both say topcoat. I tried it on a small spot and it looks good to me so im going for it. I will get some pictures up here when im done.

This is a gloss topcoat that should be applied on top of the Natural Teak Stain or Light Stain. Its a clear coat and im not sure how it would look by itself. It would be a shame to waste such an expensive product if you had to strip and reapply with the stain. But hey if you say its what you wanna do its your boat man go for it!

The more i looked at it the more i didnt like it, going to see if i can locate some cetol stain with out waiting to order it.
