I just bought the Sherwood 1732C pump from MarinePumpDirect in Fairfield CA...I have a 98 Sundancer 450 with twin Caterpillar 3126’s. The price was $529 and I’m in the Delta so I drove over and picked it up...
I will need to transfer the gear from the old pump to the new one, does anybody have any tips/tricks?

Very straight forward:
Remove the nut from the pump shaft, remove any washers behind the nut then use a light duty puller and remove the gear.....or use a "Southern
Good-ol Boy" puller( big screwdrivers placed 180˚ apart or on popposite sides of the gear and gently pry the gear off the shaft.
Do not try to remove any parts from the pump with the pump still in the boat. If you drop a nut, washer or wrench you will have tro pull the engine out of the boat to remove the oil pan in order to retreive the lost items....unless you are real lucky.
