Carbon monoxide fume detectors

I replaced my three OEM Fireboy CO detectors last year. My boat is in heated storage for six months each year and I unplug each detector so they don’t drain my batteries. Wondering if that will double the life expectancy?
That's a good question!!!

Many years ago I started a thread called 'How often do you go in the ER', at the time FourSuns was a regular at CSR and he of course thought I meant emergency room. If you were around then you'll get it.

I really miss Gary on this Forum...

Do you know anyone who got stopped/inspected this year? They suspended enforcement last year due to supply problems of the detectors, so this year was supposed to be the big enforcement year.

Never heard anything about it after the big hullabaloo last year.
Sorry about the delay.
No I have not, however I spent more time in WI on Lake Superior than on the Mississippi. Because the Mississippi was flooded most of the Summer, we only went out once.

I saw this on FB...

In case you don't remember me....I'm the one hounding everyone about having or checking Carbon Monoxide detectors on your boats. This is the boat that our friends died on this summer due to a crack in the exhaust pipe to their generator.
We have walked past this boat every time we've gone since that awful day in July and thought of them. Tomorrow we are going to our boat for the final weekend of 2018....and I'm told Jo Jo's Mojo will be gone. I hope John, Jodi and their precious dog Prudence will be cruising on her in heaven!
PLEASE.......Before you launch next spring, check your CO detectors. They do outdate and aren't effective!
Buy new ones....check batteries....don't leave your family , friends and dockmates behind to mourn you.
