Capt Rusty

As long as he doesn't have any freaky charcoal sketches of himself done in a speedo, he's alright by me.

While we're waxing poetic about Rusty… the amazing thing is that there are so many of us (guys who he has helped out and that think he is The Man) yet only one of him. Who do he do it? Are there more than one Rusty? We're all talking about the same guy, right?

Helped me make the decision to by mine as well. Something comforting about hearing the words "looks like you found the best 340 out there" from THE Captain... This thread and the countless other are a true testament to the kind of guy Rusty is. I'm glad Sea Ray came to their senses a few months back...

Simply because he came up during Connie Ray's time, when you looked a man in the eye and a handshake was as good as any contract written today. It seems today that the company has lost its personality; just another faceless subsidiary of a huge conglomerate. Boat builders are traditionally enamored with the love of building boats...not with the philosophy of "Am I going to make next quarters numbers and keep my job." Rusty is old school, like some of the rest of us.

Now, I run a small business and I understand sales, marketing, profits, and the need to deliver shareholder value. But, it just isn't the same Sea Ray anymore.

Maybe that's OK with them.

It's not with me.

Wait a minute. Rusty told me my 480 DB was near "end of life" and I needed a new boat.

And he never made fun of my 36db at Liberty landing he actually said she was a "beautiful" starter bridge.. Maybe he said "cute". Rusty is the man!! How many guys give you their cell and insist you call them Monday morning ?

Imagine if Rusty took his cell phone full of lifelong boaters / Sea Ray owners to another boat builder and/or boating related business?

That's funny sh!t right there ^^^. Joe, you walked right into it.

Rusty helped me with issues on my 340 even when that boat was build at the TN plant and he was the FL factory cust service rep! Helped me find a 44 a few years later. Great guy, knows boats like noone else, and loyal to the Sea Ray brand. Honestly, I think this guy is under utilized at Sea Ray.
