Yesterday, 2020 got a whole lot better! For years I've been here on CSR reading and learning all I could from so many experts. At the top of that list are two that I thought maybe I would be blessed to meet someday, but assumed it was unlikely - Capt Rust Higgins and Frank Webster. Both have contributed so much to the community over the years. Frank, the undisputed king of diesel know how. He loves his CATs and wouldn't trade his 450 for anything. And Rusty, the brand ambassador extraordinaire for Sea Ray for so many years. THE captain of the East Coast.

As I, and a new captain I was training, were prepping a local tour boat for the afternoon tours, a beautiful Sundancer 60 with a CSR burgee cruised past us into Ego Alley and docked on the seawall. Naturally, I had to walk down to investigate and say hello. As I approached the boat and greeted the men in the cockpit, there was a flash of recognition as Capt Rusty greeted me back. We were able to talk for a few minutes and it was as if he'd known me for years. Every bit the gentleman and friend that all have ever said. Turns out he's captaining the 60 footer on an annual multi-week cruise since the owner's captain couldn't travel. Right about now he should be cruising out of Annapolis enroute to Norfolk.

Thank you Rusty for taking the time to talk. I look forward to talking and seeing you again soon.

So very cool... I was there 2 weeks ago staying at the Waterfront. I saw a 60 foot Sea Ray on the wall, wonder if that was it.

Annapolis is one of our favorite towns.... been to ego alley quite a few times. Couldn’t imagine making it better by meeting Rusty or any CSR members on top of it.

Here Here a toast for Rusty.

Rusty is an awesome person to know. (Don't let it go to your head Rusty) It is already full of so much info :)

When the Social Distancing Police find your whereabouts, you're in for a world of hurt! What a great experience!

I am in now back in sunny FLA and just seeing this post...Let's start off right now by saying, you guys see who is wearing the Captain bars in the picture, and it's not me. It was so my pleasure to meet you, and so sorry I missed the wife. How cool was it that just as quick as I docked, you walked up! The owner of my boat was blown away that you came to his boat in uniform and asked if I was present....and so was I !

I made mention on another post that the owner and I had been to Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Cape Cod, Newport RI, Block Island, Montauk, NYC, Cape May, Baltimore, Annapolis. At each location, that Sea Ray 60 Sundancer drew lookers. And capping it off with Geoff stopping by was just over the top!

The owner, Mr. Maurice Slaughter (he asked that I introduce him to you all) is a Harley dealer in VA,NC & MD. He also has Ducati motorcyle dealerships. He asked me at the end of our voyage, if there was any marinas that some one did not know me, lol. Maurice asked me to please tell all the CSR crowd, if you are near one of his dealerships, he would be honored to meet you in person....how cool is that, a Harley dealer wanting to talk Sea Ray's with you!! If you want to be jealous, it would not come from me going to all these cool locations with Mr. Slaughter, it would be due to me and Rick (mistercomputerman on this site) having a whole day trying out all the Harley's we could squeeze in....now we're talkin!

Hope to see you again Capt, and don't be surprised if I ask for you help taking one up the coast!!! The pleasure and honor would be all mine!

Rusty

post script....thanks to all you other gunslingers that I know for posting! We got to get you over here Mike, or all of us east coasters are coming to see you! Hope you're well brother, think of ya often!
