Heading down that way this week, any suggestions as far as marinas? As always thanks in advance.

Canyon Club is nice with all the amenities. But you'll need a taxi to get into town.

Utsch's is a bit closer, but a long walk. OK to bike, on the other hand. The public jitney goes out this far, which can be easier than a taxi since there's more room. Or it can be more of a pain. Swings both ways.

South Jersey is a bit closer and near Utsch's. It's nice. Good service. Close to the Lobster House. But the party boats leave throughout the night and early morning. If you don't mind a bunch of half drunk would-be fish-seekers hanging around your boat while you're trying to sleep...

Best regards,
Frank

South Jersey Marina, been there 2 times and NEVER had an issue,
In fact will be there this weekend 8/1 for 1 nite... $2.95 a foot, good gas
prices and the Lobster House for dinner (no waiting) while staying at SJ marina
guests, and Mike Doc for breakfast, taking a cab in town Sat nite

SJ Marina # 609-884-2400 Chris Dockmaster

I have stayed in most of the Cape May Marinas for several weeks... Canyon Club is the only one with a Pool, if that is important. South Jersey is nice too... But our favorite is Utches... http://www.capemayharbor.com/. It is the largest marina in the area, family owned for many years, and if you need any type of maitenance on your boat it is the only place to go to in the area... They also have the cheapest gas and diesel. It is only $2.00 a foot. Its not a fancy place, but we felt most at home there. We have walked and bike from there to the town and to the beach... We would normally purchase a season pass to the beach because it was cheaper than buying daily passes... Cape May is a beautiful destination you can't go wrong anywhere you stay.

We've only stayed at the Canyon Club and it is very nice. First class amenities but there is nothing really near-by. Call to see if they have anyone doing the pool-side food concessions so you know how much food to bring. Also, they'll hook you up with a reservation at Lobster House which is difficult to get on your own. You will need a cab or ask one of the dock hands to drive you over.

Just leaving South Jersey Marina was very nice and friendly. Lobsterhouse was decent for dinner if you there recommend getting the wooden paddle plate upgrade for your entree.

We keep our boat at and have a condo at Canyon Club. Of the three major marinas in Cape May it is the nicest. It has a very large pool. On weekends there is a small kitchen called Chef Lenny's were you can get breakfast and lunch ($$$). You can walk to either Harborview Resturant, Lobster House, Lucky Bones (very popular local pub resturant) also Doc Mikes. You will need a cab to get from any of the marinas to the outstanding resturants that Cape May has to offer. The large boats go into South Jersey, Utschs' Marina is ok but not as nice as Canyon Club. Canyon Club has a large efficient service department, since Canyon Club and South Jersey are linked the service department works in both places.

If you come to Cape May send me a pm and we can provide some more help.

Did ya consider Wildwood? A few miles away from Cape May but it does offer a cheesy boardwalk and related amenities (rides, beach, etc.) You can rent a compact car for around $35/day and get whereever you want. They'll leave the car at the marina for you and you can leave it there when you leave. Never been there by boat but friends that have say Schooner Island is the place to be. Pool there too.

Tom and Linda, Canyon Club is very nice. I was there earlier this year and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. The walk is not so bad. You just have to take the bridge over the canal and you're on the more happening side. Try the brick oven restaurant. I forget what it's called, but it's right across the street from the Lobster House. The food is excellent.
