I need to add a canvas snap or two due to a canvas modification that was made. Does anyone know what size drill I should to predrill prior to inserting the snap/screw onto the hull?

When I did it I got a drill bit the size of the inner shaft of the screw. I used painters tape on the fiberglass where I was drilling the holes. I also used 4400 on the threads of the screw. The snap screws have a couple of sizes and lengths. I don't remember bit size I used.

When in doubt - drill a small piece of wood as a test

I also like to slightly taper or countersink the hole as I think it does help with spider cracks around the outside of the hole. 4200 by 3M is fine if you want some more tensile holding power.
