Just sitting here.... Counting down the days.... And cold!!!!

It was 78 Degrees here in AZ on Thanksgiving....I almost told my family to piss off, so I could go spend the day on the lake. ;)

BBY, I bet I know who you'd be on the lake with!

It was in the mid 60's here yesterday. Beautiful day, especially considering it's late November. Today it was in the low 60's but very windy. Sustained winds in the mid 20's with gusts up in the the mid- to high-30's.

It'll cool off into the high 20's by Sunday but at least the wind will die down.

april 22 2015 before i get wet.Lots of things to do to her this winter in heated storage though.I bought a new scaffolding for the wheel and wax,and kits to go through the raw water side of the cooling systems on both engines.Clean the headliner re bed three hatches replace the horns ,reseal the windshield and replace the screw covers on same,i may find time to get new gaskets for the powered vent window.I have taken the bolsters in the forward berth to the upholstery shop with new material already and have to take the transom seat and base to them next to have it recovered also. Then i will order a jar of gel paste to fix a few nicks in the floor and swim platform, put down new sound deadener strips under hatches and am thinking cutlass bearings and have the shafts checked and trued.Oh lets not forget that replacement of the ice maker control assembley.Maybe new carpet or hardwood flooring. And a few repairs to the backdrop on the canvas, two zippers and a new rear isenglass.Duckbills if i have time and mabey remove and reconfigure the liquer cabinet under the countertop so the fridge will fit flush (I just dont like the picture frame i had to make to shim it out).Oh and the bilge pumps and blowers wont work from the helm switch ,auto is fine and the blowers work from the gen control panel but not from the helm(wierd) already replaced both carlson switches to.

My DTL is currently sitting at 124 (April 2nd) but if we get some great mid to late March weather I'll move that up a couple weeks.

Shane, I completely agree with you, on all counts. But, it gives us something real nice, really nice to look forward to. Like others have mentioned, in-progress projects, or planning upcoming projects, boat shows, and CSR keeps us thinking of splash day.

Personally, and I know some will disagree violently, but I like the aspect of having one less "really" big toy that needs continuous cleaning, polishing, buffing and waxing. As much as I love it, it's kinda nice to sit back and also do some of our favorite things we don't make time for in the summer.

I don't know whats more depressing, watching the clock or the snow that's now falling again here in Pa.

Think I'll find the wife and see if she wants to......
That didn't go as planned so I'm back.

I'm in Arizona right now and am loving the weather, 80's yesterday.

Up here on the west side of Canuck land we're still pretty lucky. -9C (+15F) this morning but the boat is still in the slip. This is just another temporary Arctic flow coming through, usually lasts about a week. It's 6:30am here and I'm on my way to the boat to see how well my new to me bilge heater is working. Installed it a couple of days ago but it wouldn't come on because it was too warm out. I just love the ring of that statement,,,,,,, "too warm out" Even at this temp the water seems to have a warming effect on the hull, keeping it just slightly above freezing in the engine room. Thanx again Stuart.

Winters are still miserable here even though the boat is in the water. Can't begin to imagine not having that escape. It would probably motivate me to move south.

Chris, after you check on Lolly Gaggin, you need to see a shrink. Anyone who gets up at 0630 on a day when it's 15* outside is either nuts.....or a boater. Forget what I said about the shrink. I now know the reason.

-22 here right now with about 15 cm of fresh snow. Screw boating its almost ski season.

I hate it so bad,,, this gettin' up early thing. My work day is 6 to 6 so I'm up before 5am every weekday. When the weekend comes I can't seem to sleep in much past 5:30. I've even tried partying 'till the wee hours of the morning and sure enough,,,, that darn internal alarm goes off every morning before 6:00. I've always been like that. As a kid I was used to gettin' up to do chores. I couldn't go to any sleep overs 'cause I'd be up with the sun while the rest of 'em were sleeping 'till 10 or 11. :smt015 Boring !!!!

Sunrise here 5.45am Sunset 7.50pm, temps presently averaging over 80F....1st day of Summer tomorrow
