Hi,
I'm looking to have a snap on mooring cover made for my new 08 185 Sport and am looking for recommendations for a vendor in the central NJ area (+- 100 miles) who will do a quality job at a reasonable price?

Any suggestions?
THANKS!

Ken

Contact these guys, they will probably be able to quote you a number right over the phone.

Thanks but..
I already have one of these and it's great if the boat is on the trailer. I want a snap on one in case I leave the boat in the water for any period of time. besides a cover being made, snaps would need to be located and added all around the boat and a pro would need to do it all.
I recently met a guy up at Lake Wallenpaupak who does this at his shop there (spelling?) in PA but I lost his card.

Jeans canvas in Belford on 36 (jeanscanvas.com) He did the full canvas on my 370 dancer, and after 3 seasons it's as good as new, and he stands behind his work.. The only thing is he's a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Also had a cockpit cover done on my 28 cruisers a few years back(bdcanvas.com) located at Morgan Marina in South Amboy/Sayreville.. Pictures are on the site under cockpit cover, also a great job and I believe you'll geta better price as well..
Hope this helps..

Try Alberts Canvas in Somers Point NJ, if you are that end of the state. He did some canvas repair for me and did a great job

What type of cover are looking for???

A mooring cover is what most people think of when they think of a traditional boat cover. Unlike a cockpit cover or tonneau cover that uses snaps to attach to the boat for coverage in a certain area, a mooring cover covers the entire boat, generally to or just below the rub rails on the sides, and cinches tight using a rope sewn in a hem all the way around the cover and/or with straps running under the boat from one side to another.

I am seeking a snap on one piece combo cockpit cover / bow cover, a.k.a. mooring cover that snaps on so it can be on the boat in the water.

The mooring covers with straps are only good on the trailer.

Did you confirm that Great Lakes Boat Top Company does not make mooring covers with snaps that attach to the snaps that you already have on your boat? I am not sure that they do but I would guess that they do. I am also trying to understand what you are trying to accomplish, do you feel that it will be easier, or make it less likely to get wet, again I am just curious on what you are trying to accomplish?

I guess I don't understand either, a mooring cover is going to go below the rub rail and you don't normally see snaps below the rub rail? Most mooring use a rope sewn in a hem all the way around the cover that you pull tight. Straps are only used when it is on the trailer.
