Can You Guess How Big The New Sea Ray is? I hear it's BIG.

Jeff
Not enough - I need more. I want my props encased in a shark cage, I want warning stickers near all gunwales warning the reader that one more step and you could fall into the water which could result in drowning - and I want multiple languages, just like the instructions that came with my last TV. Just in case.

I like it and will stand in line with all the other dreamers in Miami.

Carter did... So my name is now Carter. Bastard charged me $1200 per ticket. One would think this is the Super Bowl.

I guess I'll wait in line like everyone else. I'm hoping I get to meet Justin Beiber or something.

There is probably some secret 650 Super Bowl party on the thing this weekend....

I heard the 650 party starts at an undisclosed location at 4:30pm, that it's going to be Miley Twerker instead of Bieber, that it doesn't matter what your income is, you are persona non grata if you don't have a dealer invite you, and they are going to use every piece of china that they put on the boat when they sell it.

Whoever heard of selling a boat with china on it? It's almost like they want to sell the boat to a certain demographic that doesn't know anything about boating. "Oh, honey. I like that boat with the brown interior and the new china. Buy it for me and let's go to the Bahamas this afternoon after you write the nice man a check."

Simply awesome. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

China? On a boat?
The Titanic was loaded with china… look how THAT turned out.

China...
Geez.

A lot of boats in this class have "dishes" that come with them as they are fitted into spots within the cabinetry. I've never seen one come with pots and pans though... some nice high-end cookware would be unique... with some real appliances in the galley.

There is an optional dishwasher package, but then you also have to get the optional crew quarters. (The dishwasher needs a place to sleep.)

Overall, I think SeaRay has developed a good model to compete with the likes of Azimut, Prestige, Lazzara, Fairlane and Sunseeker – but none of these appeal to me for a few reasons. Sure, all have plenty of giddy-up to cruise at 25 to 30 knots but you have to be able to tolerate the fuel burn, which I am guessing would be at least in the 70 - 80 gph range. It seems they did not allow for dinghy storage that makes sense. It looks like the dingy would be on the swim platform that appears to be hydraulic, which I would avoid if possible. A boat this size needs a good size dink (jet type preferred of course) but perhaps not on the swim platform. Also, not sure I like the modern finish of the interior with all the square, flush and uninteresting cabinetry and accoutrements - but I understand that there is a market for all of this.

I am drawn to either the Flemming or Grand Banks Aleutian. Both are classic timeless styles with exquisite woodwork interiors of teak, mahogany and cherry. Ok, these are in the trawler class and perhaps should not be directly compared to the new super fly, but they sure are more economical for a long distance cruise. And yes, I am day dreaming looking out at 8 more inches of snow falling today.

Jim, I couldn't agree with you more on ALL counts… including the snow/day dreaming.

See, you teach me something every time we chat..I just haven't graduated to this sized vessel yet.

How about a propane-fired fireplace aboard??

Well, I must not be snobby enough then...

And that is the new 720 Super Fly complete with all wood staircase and fireplace, to go with your day boat dishes. You wouldn't want your girlfriend to get cold running around South Miami.

I was touring the Palm Coast factory and they were assembling the Super Fly. I guess someone ordered one with a fireplace and a Home Depot bannister. Pretty cool install - The black hose goes through the bulkhead into a small locker in the cockpit where is stored a propane cylinder, not unlike the one you use for a BBQ.
