Can someone tell me about this model?

Thanks for all the info!!!

Owner said the title says "1979 Searay Sundancer SRV 240"

Well I still don't think its a Sundancer, it dosen't have Sundancer Windows but only the Hull ID number will confirm what it really is.

And don't believe whats on the title, when switching a Title over, they ask you what Model your Boat is and put down whatever you answer.

I now think is the Cuddy Cruiser.

Its a Sundancer, note the raised helm.....the weekender did not have the venturi windsheld and had seats on the starboard and port. The 1975 model had a shorter version of that windshield and was the boat that started the whole aft cabin design.

I highly doubt its a Sundancer, it dosn't have any side windows. Its definitely not a 79 Sundancer.

OK,

You need the hull ID number, where is it?

What else would you need to confirm what the title says?

Maybe the owner will go to the slip this weekend and check that for you.

Anyways, what would the boat be worth, I would say its in great shape!!

Do you guys have your hands full with Billy.........lol

J/K Billy, Thanks for all your input!!

It dont matter what the title says. My title didnt say what it was when i bought it just had the hull id. When I sent off my title they asked what i had and I told them a Sundancer because thats what the PO told me. After checking my hull ID turns out i have a Express Cruiser that now has Sundancer on the title. I guess i could have told them i had a Pirate Ship!

If it has the aft cabin it is definately a Sundancer and looks to be a 240. I am guessing it has the aft cabin under the helm seat? Express cruisers looked almost identicle to Sundancers with no aft cabin. They had a seating area similar to a weekender. Weekender is typically like a long nosed cuddy with kitchen and bath and again, no aft cabin. That model 240 Sundancer did not have the large side windows typical to sundancers. 78 had a Sundancer 260 that looked a whole lot like a weekender but it had an aft cabin. So, AFTer all that...aft cabin = sundancer. No aft cabin...beats me... a weekender express cuddy?

I was typing while you were posting SR330daguy but was going the same direction.

That windshield can't be good for gas mileage. Not pretty good airflow. That canvas top ain't that good either, it's pretty high, look like it's acting as parachute when you ride. Making engine work harder. Right???

lol Im just trying to help you figure out what the boat your thinking about buying REALLY is man! If you like it, buy it. It dosn't matter what model it is if you really like it. Its def not a 79 Sundancer but looks like it could be a 77 Sundancer, or if it is indeed a 79, could be a Cuddy Cruiser.

The Hull ID is on the Port Side of the Transom ingraved into the Fiberglass somewhere near the Tow Hook.

The Boat Does look like its in great shape, but determining the actual year and Model would help figure out its value. Depending on if its been repowered and what the Survey said in regards to its structual integrety and moisture levels, I would think it could be worth anywhere between 4000 and 7000.

Whatever it is, its a good looking Ray:thumbsup: But let us know the Hull ID cuz now Im itching to know!

10-4 Billy, I was just pulling your chain..lol

I didnt get to talk to him today but I will Friday. Hopefully have the ID # by Monday

Here is my newly acquired 1977 SRV 240 SUNDANCER! Maybe this will help.... I'm currently putting in a new 5.8L from Michigan Motors

Huck,
Im not trying to be an ass but did you read the rest of the thread? 79 Sundancer's were styled the same as the early 80's DA's. Hence the discussion on trying to figure out the model and year of this boat.

Cody,
Did he give you the MIC as well? Probably not but if he did maybe one of the guys that work for Sea Ray could run it to be sure.

One thing that the Hull ID tells us is that the Hull came out of the mold in March of 79. They may have been still producing the 78 version's of the DA in the early part of the year before they switched over the the "new" style. Or if the Hull came out of the mold in say December of 78 and it wasn't assembled until March for whatever reason, they could have just stamped it March. Honestly I don't know. One thing is for sure though, if it is indeed a Sundancer, you have one of the last style Sundancer's of that era that was produced. That kinda cool. I'm not positive but I think the letters 260 DA are stamped in the MIC on my boat (should be right under the Hull ID) so if you get that number it may clear it up.
