My friend owns this boat. It is a 79 model Sundancer.

Its the only one that I have seen with the windshield tilted forward.

Is this a rare model or something?

He is also selling it and I'm interested in buying it.

What size is it? go to searay.com scroll across boat sizes and you will see archives click on year, size and it should give you the info. you need.

I don't think it's super rare. There's a name for that type of windshield but I can't remember what it is. Check Sea Ray's website. Look under the archives. I've seen a couple of these on the market and locally.

Check the Hull ID, but I don't think thats a Sundancer. Could e an Express or SRV or something. The 79 Sundancer was Identical to my boat and there are more differences then just the windshield.

I had a 26 ft 79 sundancer with the venturi windshield. I believe that boat might be older than 1979. (based on the windows in the hull) I found my boat to be under powered with Merc 260/Alpha 1 drive.

Edit.. could that be a 240 weekender?

No its a 79, its just a weekender model probably a 240. Look at the 240 Weekender, the three slashes in between the hull windows is a dead giveaway IMO.

billy,
take a look at the brochure. They show that window on the Sundancer in the brochure.

Does the hatch and the bow pulpit give the indication that it is not the weekender?

I see what your saying but I think thats actually the cuddy cruiser thats pictured in that ad (see the fine print showing the cuddy with the bridge option). If you look at the 240 weekender its a dead match even with the yellow hull. My money is on a 240 weekender. Pictures of the interior would confirm the model.
The weekender has a stand alone captains chair.
Cody give us interior and rear deck pics!!

It's a 24 foot weekender with a venturi windshield. It was not rare but not a big seller. People seemed to prefer a regular windshield over this style which did little to deflect the wind. The canvas worked better with a traditional windshield.

I'm with Wish2Fish on this one....it's a '79 240 Cuddy Cruiser. Compare this photo to the OP's photo. The front hatch with the kid popping out is identical as is the bow pulpit.

Close....but look at the sidewalls above the gunwale in your comparison -- the height doesn't match and the front hatch angles don't match.

2:1 says its a cuddy cruiser but only the HIN will solve the mystery.

also look at the positioning of the the sea ray logo to the windows. on the 240 weekender they are close to each other and on the other model they are several feet away.

nice work putting those photos together. Makes it much easier to view.

Thanks for all the info!!!

Owner said the title says "1979 Searay Sundancer SRV 240"

He doesnt have any interior pics, sorry.

Its a Sundancer, note the raised helm.....the weekender did not have the venturi windsheld and had seats on the starboard and port. The 1975 model had a shorter version of that windshield and was the boat that started the whole aft cabin design.
