Can legalizing marijuana solve the economic crisis for the long term?

"I never thought about it in the past, but after that week I pondered what would happen if they legalized it in the States. I wonder if things would change? I wonder what it would do to crime rates? Taxes? Etc."

Wes and some others have this irrational fear that what you post up on the internet can come to harm you, which I guess is possible, but I dont fear the reaper.

Put it this way. I smoke pot. It is occasionally, but I do smoke. The fear for someone may be that by posting that, the CIA or FBI or other law enforcement will come barreling down the driveway and take me away :smt017

Thats utter nonsense and paranoia.

If the government/powers that be are going to waste time going after an every day guy who occasionally likes to smoke pot, then our country is in MUCH bigger trouble than I ever thought possible. With all the crap going on, to waste resources on a ridiculously minor thing would be an outrage.

It would also show me, and prove, our lovely patriot act has gone further than it should be going to look for "terrorists". It would then be abuse of power.

So, no, I dont fear it. Ill post whatever the heck I want and never lose sleep over it. Of course, Jim actually has the final say on here. :grin:

If you have no fear and no paranoia, then you need a new 'supplier'.....your gonja needs a liitle more kick.....you do have the munchies......right....

What I get is more than adequate. I have heard f people getting paranoid when smoking, but really never witnessed it.

Munchies- yes and no! If I am hungry before smoking, then it intensifies the hunger (in a bad way though for sweets!) If I already ate and am full, food actually turns me off.

So I ALWAYS make an effort to eat before, lest I devour an entire Bryers half gallon of ice cream on a whim!
 
I guess Wes' statement questioned why you would willingly post to a group of strangers, the fact that you have no problem admitting to the occassional criminal act. Not too bright IMHO.

Oh please, everyone here is a saint I suppose. Everyone drives the speed limit, everyone behaves 100% inside the law at all times etc...?

And I dont really consider people who have been here a while strangers. Everyone has put quite a lot of personal info up and out on here. We may not have met in person, but I do feel like I know many of ya'll.

With me, you see what you get. Im no phony, and I tell it like it is. Some people will appreciate it, some will hate it, and whichever is fine with me.

Chat Monday. Just got off the boat from a full day of wakeboarding and Im beat :grin:

The only bad thing I can see about legalizing it would be the government regulation. It would probably be so "detuned" that a black market would still exist for the good stuff. You can damn well gaurantee it would have to be grown by a federally regulated producer and nearly detoxed before hitting the shelves. "Can I have a pack of ganja ultra-lights please?"

No. You cant compare it to being drunk. You cannot get that out of control with it. I compare it to being on the verge of being drunk, but more in control of emotions and motor skills, and hard to describe, but many things seem to be a bit more "fun".

It also depends on what youre doing. For example, video games are enhanced, when I play guitar or drums it flows a bit more, even doing stupid things that are usually minutia (like cutting the grass/landscaping) it adds something to occupy the mind.

Put it this way: when I am around people who drink, it invariably ends up getting annoying after a while to be around drunks. They get really loud, out of control, people argue or get into fights, nothing makes sense.

When Im with my people who smoke, conversations seem to get deep, there is a lot of laughing, we'll play games (like Risk lol) and maybe get hungry.

In comparison, Ill take mj over alcohol any day.

It can. It is very dependent on WHAT you are going into when you smoke. If you are tired before, it will more than likely make you sleepier, if youre happy, make you happier, if depressed, could make you sadder etc...it is an "enhancer" of sorts.

The one thing I havent seen it do, is if you are angry, it never makes you angrier. Which to me is an important distinction between alcohol and mj.
 
I hear it also makes you forget to put in your drain plug before you launch your boat.

:lol: THAT I blame solely on being dumb and rushing to get out on the water in excitement for the first wakeboarding session of the year. No mj was involved that day at all for the launch.

True, my friends that smoke allot are the least violent people I know.
