Is is possible to use the engine monitoring capabilities of the Raymarine C-120 MFD with our boat? We've got a 2000 410 Dancer with CAT 3116s. We can get the latest software update for the C-120 but the version we have now is still supposed to work. I'm not sure if we'll need the NMEA 0183 Multiplexer or not. Just don't know if all this can even be connected to our engines, etc. Any advice?

Thanks.

Ultimately it is possible using a Maretron engine interface kit and about $3000 of other assorted sensors from albotross systems and maretron.... But it is not cost effective whatsoever. Plus, the C120 has no good way toi display this data. Basically to put both engines on your screen so you can actually read the data you need to put engine data in full page mode, rendering the C120 useless for anything else. You're a few years early on doing this project.

What Jim said.
I only wanted to add the Flo-Scan has come up with a conversion "box" for older (not NMEA 2000) engines that will allow their flow meters to output data in NMEA 2000 format for this purpose. $$ pricey$$, though.
