Hello all,

In the process of buying my first boat, a 2007 175 Sport. I go out in my friends CC fishing boat quite often but I have zero solo boating experience. I'm very excited and a little nervous as well. Looking forward to learning as much as I can.

The boat is in great shape and still has 4 years left on the extended warranty. My wife and 3-year old son really liked it after taking a sea trial. Here is a pic.

Hey Jason. I had one of those as my first boat! She was a 2005 model. Awesome little learner boat and a great engine too! :) You'll love it! I kept mine a year then went to a 220 Sunsport (you don't have that model in the USA) and just traded a few months ago to a 240 Sundancer!!! You'll get the bug too! ;)

Welcome to the best times of your life. Boating is the perfect family adventure and a wonderful way to spend time with your children. Kids are never too young to learn safety and how to help. My daughter is now 21 and can easily handle our 330 Sundancer.
May your seas be calm and your course be true.

Thanks for the welcomes. I'll stick with my little 17 footer for a while I think.

Ah that's awesome!
Congrats- that's a great starter boat!
What's the boating like in the Tampa Bay area? Looks like a fun place!

I started with a 2006 model. As others have said, a great boat and a lot of fun. Congrats!

By the way, you are already looking for a bigger boat, you just don't know it yet...

Well I don't have a lot of experience except for going out fishing in the bay with my friend. I'll give you some more details in a few weeks.

Nice. Let's not tell my wife that right now.

We started with a 175 too... The first two hours owing the boat we took out on in the Atlantic Ocean and tried to anchor in 6-7' swells for lunch. We lost a steat cushion, and got stopped by the Coast Guard for not having any numbers or reg on the boat. We did things with that boat we would not think of doing now with our 340. We loved the 175. We put on about 150 hours in the first summer and traded it in for 250 at the end of the summer. It is a great boat to start on. We bought the full canvas and sept over night in AC on it. We bought ours new, but now we would never buy a new boat... Enjoy the fun, and remember we all made mistakes with our first boats...
