Buying a NEW or USED boat in the next 12 months?

Will you buy new or used in the next 12 months or get out of boating entirely?

Retired and loving it. We have all the boat we will ever need. With proper care and maintenance it should last us the rest of our boating lifetime. I am however having a commercial crab boat being built on an old Mako hull for trot lining.

Now's the time to buy, but as most have said the economy is hurting my business as well. I will have to wait until next year and probally go to a 260DA. I would love to go to a 290 in the next 2-3 years but the wife hasn't been working since the little guy was born. My 220 has been a great little boat throughout the years but with a two year old more space is much needed. How many days until spring?

keeping my 37 1999 sundancer....

Too late, and wrong thread. However, if you change one of your votes to "72," I'll see if I can get the boss to let yours count.

He could file a grievance...

Voted "no"...for now. We are in boating for the long haul and realize our boat (albeit fantastic) will not be our "forever" boat. My choice is to make one big move up to a newer trawler eventually, my wife says we should be shooting for a 48 as the "next boat". For now, we're only dreaming...

Let me know when you want to get rid of your boat:grin: In a few years would love to upgrade to 310 -340. Sharp boat. (like the color)

The bank finally got back to me and it looks like I may get my 2002 320 very soon! get the paperwork done, sea trial and survey and she may be mine! Christmas cruise on the bay would be fantastic!

Wish me luck...:smt038

OFFER ACCEPTED! Surveys & Sea trials this week. A smoking deal IMHO on a beautiful boat!

If anyone is looking for a Dancer, I know of 2 here in the Bay Area that may be worth shipping cross country. One is a 2005 300DA and the other is a 2007 340DA. The "asking" price is set for the 340 but not yet for the 300. Someone will be getting a great deal on a fantastic boat especially on the 340 (beautiful boat). I am not sure what the original price was but I am sure the selling price will be about $150K less than sold for new.

If anyone wants contact information PM me...

I'm trying to buy one. I have two to put on the market to sell in a week or two. A 1977 stamas 32 project boat and a 1992 Hydra-sports 2550/2750 WA. Looking for a 35-41 Cummins powered diesel boat with lower helm, salon etc. No 555 or 903 Cummins need apply. Hatteras 38 or 41C series I, Chris Craft 360, Trojan 11 meter are examples. Thanks
