I have recently purchased a 2001 290 amberjack. The original single burner butane stove has never been used and has no canister inside. Is there still a source for butane canister/fuel? if not any recommendations for conversion? I did a search of the forum ,but not finding much current info from the old post.

my dealer still has them in stock.. there are a ton of these still on the river.. we had one in our 240 and I still think it was one of the better stoves made for a boat.. have you checked places like DEFENDER, West Marine, or Marine Max? By the way one installed they will not leak off ours usually lasted the summer only cooking breakfast on the weekends

I picked them up at the local Cabelas. Also found a leak in the stove and sent it back to Kenyon yesterday for a rebuild. They have a great customer service dept.

Thanks guys. I have checked West Marine , nothing in eCatalog, will check DEFENDER.

RV stores (and local marinas/marine stores) will likely have it, as well.

got the same stove, and Amazon.com has them as well if you strike out locally.

I have a 240 sundancer and could not find them with in 100 miles so I purchased a portable stove from benny's / walmart works great and I can cook outside if I need too.

I bought canisters of Butane at Defender's store but had a leak with the first one I put in. Started a small fire that I put out quickly.

These are the first non-kenyon branded cans I have purchased. I can hear butane leaking as soon as I engage the can. Has anyone else had this issue?

You can find the butane canister at local Ace or even Walmart stores. They don't need to be "Kenyon" brand, just Butane canisters that have the notch in the collar.

I had mine rebuilt at Kenyon this year and am loving having it back onboard. The stove works great!!!

I bought mine at our local sporting goods store, they're also used for back packing stoves. When I was searching for mine I read that asian markets carry them also.
