My wife and I spent the weekend in Lake Oswego, OR, which is a city adjacent to Portland. Her son was playing in a tennis tournament and we wanted to encourage him. He's usually and ACE player but this weekend his game was not what it could have been. Long story short, we had lunch Saturday with some friends of many years and enjoyed a wonderful dinner that night in a French restaurant.

On the way home we stopped at Bonneville Dam and toured the fish ladder and went downstairs to see the fish viewing window. The results were amazing.

We spent about 30 minutes watching the fish go by the viewing window and it was mesmerizing. I tried to post pictures that I had uploaded to a 3rd party hosting site that offered several options to reduce the photo size. I chose the size that was suitable for posting on websites but they apparently are still too large for CSR. So here's a linky to where they are posted.

That's pretty cool looking. Played in a tennis tournament myself this weekend, men's 40 & over.

That's pretty cool Mike. At first I didn't understand what I was looking at but then realized that it's not an aquarium but the live fish in the dam just swimming about. Pretty cool.

Did you go see Herman the Sturgeon?
Bonneville is a cool dam, lots to see there.

No, we've seen Herman and were in a bit of a hurry to get home. We've seen him before. He is pretty cool.

I've been through Bonneville lock several times on the boat. It's kind of cool to see it from above and below.

If you'd have mentioned you were in town, well, within 40 miles, I'd have driven over. Brought you some crab or something. Having fresh Albacore tonight. Good 4" thick steaks. We have a bunch od Lingcod and Canary fish in the freezer too. Maybe next time. Looks like the next scheduled trip out is for next week and maybe the second week of September. Waves are 6' @ 12seconds for this week out 30 milesish. Chose to wait this week out.

Glad you have a good weekend slumming it in the PDX.:D
