Hello all,

I am about to pull my outdrive to do some preventative maintenance and want to change my gimmble bearing on my 496 Mag Bravo III sterndrive. I am leaking water and I would assume my bellows are leaking plus I want the piece of mind that my bearings are good for the long trips with my 270 Amberjack.

Question - Does anyone recommend a certain bearing puller to do the job? I see many YouTube videos where people have had trouble with a standard puller. I want to do the job right and do it myself to save some money.

Thanks in advance.

Haven't had to replace mine yet but if I did I would buy this one:

Can be had for around $150.00 if you shop around.

Also might want to check the steering pin for your water leak.
If that's the case check out JR marine for the fix.

That's the puller I bought last year and it works great.

I have type but for alpha 1, mine has a rod that goes through middle. Works flawlessly
