Hey All-

My friend and I recently bought a 2010 240 Sundancer. We should have some on the water pics shortly, but I thought everyone would find this group of pictures interesting. We literally took the boat from the showroom. Needless to say, the showroom is about 3 stories up from the boat prep area. Here's how they get a new boat out the showroom and ready for delivery.

Special thanks to our salesman Dave Strickland at Prince William Marina for taking these photos.

Ryan

That’s scary!!! I wouldn’t have the nerve to watch my boat unloaded from the 3rd floor....

Welcome to this great forum!!!

Thanks for the welcome and great comments!

Very cool!

I see mine make that trip several times a week. It never gets any easier to watch. My marina owner assures me that there is nothing to worry about - my insurance will cover it if they drop it. That really made me feel better (not really).

Congrats on the new boat !

I purchased my 2010 18.5 Sport from Prince William Marina and they Rock!!! Their customer service and service department are great. Enjoy your new boat.

Congrats on the new boat !

um, YOUR insurance if THEY drop it?

Why not Their insurance if THEY drop it?

Good to hear! The guys at PW Marina have been great. They actually have the boat this week fixing a few minor things and putting the name on the transom.

We're always looking for other people in our area! Obviously, more so come the spring when things warm up.

We're also Prince William Marine customers and I've always wondered how they got the boats in and out of there! They've alwasys been great to deal with. Good luck with your new boat!

Mike

That was one of my first questions when we picked a boat that was in the showroom. They had a blue 240 and pewter 240 and we ended up going with the black one. My sales rep was nice enough to go in on his day off to snap the photos of them hoisting it out before they opened the showroom for the day.

Thankfully PW Marina basically orders the smaller cruisers from Sea Ray fully loaded. It came with AC, hot water heater, Vacuflush, holding tank, a macerator, full camper canvas, remote spotlight, gps/chart plotter, vhf, etc. Oddly enough, the boat did not come with an old fashioned compass! We're having them put one in.

We pick it back up from the dealer tomorrow and I'll post some more pictures. It had to go in to have it's transducer replaced and have the name put on.

That's one of the most loaded 240's I've seen. A pocket cruiser with all the bells -- nice! The black hull really looks sharp.

Congrats!

I have no idea. I really didn't want to have that conversation with him, he frequently drives the forklift and I didn't want to jinx him... :smt001

I have finally uploaded an album with a few photos of the boat.

I am seriously thinking of ordering a 2011 240 DA with a 350 Mag to replace my 2006 225 WE with a 5 L MPI Bravo III. Your boat looks great! Can you tell me how she runs? We still like to waterski so getting out of the hole is kind of important.

We just wrapped up our season this past weekend. In our two months on the water this season with the new boat she ran great. For a boat this size the 350 is great.

In delivery sea trials we topped out around 44-45mph w/ the throttle all the way down. We comfortably cruise at 32-34 mph around 3900 rpm.

The boat does produce a 36" wake. Our dealer did not recommend water skis, but for tubing it's fine. I'm sure you could water ski or wake board behind the boat, but we have not done that yet.

In terms of features, it's a comfortable cruiser for 4-5 people to spend the day out on. We would anchor, tie a few tubes to the back and chill for the day. We'll be adding a grill somewhere on the boat next season.
