Bought this last night

Nice car boatman! Wife just got a convertible last week. Super fun as we haven’t had one before. Where are you located? Maybe we could go for a cruise
Just north of Pittsburgh.

We started out looking for a BMW convertible. Looked at a few but nothing caught our eye. Wife started looking at Mustangs (which I swore I would never buy one). This whole thing was more her idea. I told her we have a convertible sitting in the water but she wanted one on wheels.

I’ll bet you end up loving it. I used to live in Youngstown and drove that area a ton. It’s beautiful in the mountains and hills. Anyway we’re in Texas so probably can’t get together on a whim. Enjoy to top down rides and that mustang sound this summer!

We bought this 06 when we bought our Florida winter vacation home 17 years ago.
Currently only has 47K miles and picture was taken last fall when I was thinking about selling it.
It has shrunk over the years so I have some difficulty getting my 78 year old 6’8” overweight body in and out of it, however decided to keep it as it is fun to drive.
Over the years we have taken road trips to New Orleans, Las Vegas, The Keys taking costal & back roads.
Keeps me feeling young!

We are gonna try to make a trip to Block Island this summer and are hoping to take the Mustang.
It does have aftermarket exhaust so louder than stock. Gonna order tires and wheels but they are out of stock but says they should be back in today so will likely order those as soon as they come in.
Another perk to this is car cruises. Backstory...I was friends with this kid Andy back when we were teens and early 20's back in the early 90's (we were all friends with the guy I mentioned that was on Street Outlaws too). So Andy had a '72 Chevelle back then (still has it). Fast forward to 1998 and him and his wife bought our house from us. Fast forward to about 10 years ago and our son started dating his daughter. They got married 3 or 4 years ago and have a 1 year old son and a daughter on the way. Andy now has an Edsel tubbed out with a full cage that he takes to shows and cruises so my son and daughter-in-law go to most of the cruises so this will just be another chance to do something with them.

Love my 08 335i Hard Top Convertible, slightly modified by me. Best mod I did was a catless downpipe. Added a lot of HP and a great throaty sound.

Does anybody sell "chambered exhaust" these days? I put one on my Camaro a while back. It's got the most consistent sound of any cat-back setups I've heard. Not obnoxious at any RPM and no drone...

To the OP...nice ride. I bought a new GT in 05 and loved it even with the 4 6.

As for the chambered exhaust...it's a staple in old Corvette territory but I'm not sure if it's sold outside of that area.

I put a chambered system on my last Corvette. It had a nice burble, but was loud as hell under acceleration.

I put 12" cherry bombs as resonators just before the tips and it mellowed it out a lot.

Ordered tires and wheels today. Went with the SVE wheels with Nitto tires. Ordered splined lug nuts too since they recommended them. They said the 'well' for the lug nut is pretty tight so need to grind down a thinwall socket or buy the splined lugs so went that route. $2008 shipped to my door already mounted and balanced. Got 18x10 rears and 18x9 fronts.
Looks like these but I got the 'bronze' center wheels

That'll look great. Huge improvement over the stockers.

Did you go with the Nitto DR's? That's what I've got and they are not safe if ya get caught in the rain. Really quite terrifying :)

For the dads out there who buy their kids their first car for them, and it's a hot rod, why do you do that? I dealt with a kid in the neighborhood about 20 years ago whose dad bought him a hot rod mustang for his first car. He raced it through the neighborhood, ran loud exhaust on it, was pretty much a rebel, punk and idiot with the car in the neighborhood. He almost hit me once while I was on my riding lawn mower, we ended up in court, he got a felony dropped to a misdemeanor. That's what I learned from the mom they bought him the race car so him and the dad could bond.
