I recently purchased a 270 slx. Brought her home on a long trip.
Spent a day cleaning her up and making a list of the cosmetic items I wanted to deal with. Ordered the items I needed. Dropped her off at the heated storage spot and was looking forward to diving in.

Then Sunday morning I missed a step, slid down the next few, and fractured L1 and L2 vertebrae. So much for all my big plans. Now I hobble around waiting for the next stabbing pain to shoot out of my spine into my hip. Good times friends.

Now you will need the boat more than ever. Recovery may need long hours sitting in the sun next season aboard the boat.
Seriously, Hope you heal soon.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hope you heal quickly boating season is fast approaching!

I went for a bumpity-bump ride down the steps last spring. I sorta took it all with my right elbow and shoulder.....sore as heck for a couple months after. How does that stuff happen?:smt043You did a little better number on yourself, hope you get patched/healed up ok.

Man, that's got to be painful. Hang in there and don't try to do too much too fast. The rule "no pain no gain" doesn't necessarily hold true for that kind of injury. It takes time to heal and you must be patient, regardless of how pi$$ed off you get with your lack of mobility. Lots o' rest, and ease back into it very slowly regardless of how hard you are used to pushing yourself.

Well, the up side is you have a 270 SLX. With the 496 it's like a sports car on the water. We are going into our 7th season with or 270, "Kickin' Back" and we are still thrilled with her. Hope you have the same experience.

What top end speed should I expect? Sea trial was choppy so I couldn't find enough room or smooth water to completely wind Her out.

thanks.

I have gotten 54 MPH on the GPS with just me, full fuel and water. That was on glass. She'll run 47 - 49 full of guests all day long, if you can afford the gas. When we're cruising, I spend most of my time around 30 regardless of lake conditions.
