Buy 2 gallons for 2 coats on a boat that size.
As for the type of paint... Has the boat been bottom-painted before ? (hard to tell for sure in small pic). If so, make sure beyond a reasonable doubt as to what type of paint it is (hard, ablative or sloughing). Otherwise your new paint will stay on for about a month, then start flaking off. I bought my 2000 290AJ and it had old school sloughing paint on it. You can't use anything else except sloughing paint unless you want it to all come off (or I could media blast it down to bare FB and start over).

I you plan on painting your each year for now on, I recommend you use an ablative paint for you second coat... Also, you may need to etch you bottom with an acid prior to painting...

Here is my thread in which I am now currently doing mine.

I am using Interlux products as I trailer my boat and some bottom paints are not good when the boat is out of the water. I am using the InterProtect 2000E and Micron Extra. The folks at Interlux were very helpful when ever I called them. Here is their website where you can also read the entire process:

Here are a couple of good links for painting the bottom of the boat.

Application of Marine Epoxy Primer to a Boat . This one is great as it gives step-by-step instructions. I actually did this too for the first time last year. I followed these instructions, and it can out perfect.

Applying bottom paint

Here is a link to ablative bottom paint. I actually used the Cukote Bottom paint. It had a 1 year warranty against growth.

Well I decided to go with the Interlux Epoxycop.
The boat is trailered most of the time and and the paint is more for looks ,My wifes OCD rubbing off on me I guess.
Either way it will look better and in my mind I know it does and maybe a fish or two might like it.:smt043

Make sure you get the ablative version. If you get the hard modified epoxy version, the paint will lose all of its effectiveness after 72 hours out of the water. Hard bottom paint is NOT recommended if you are going in and out of the water. It really will be just for looks!

Everytime I pull out of the lake the whole boat gets power washed so I really dont get any growth at all,Plus i am in fresh water.

I agree. Interlux recommends Micron Extra for your type of use. This is also my use, so I used Micron Extra. Just finished today!
