It appears Boatus's website was hit by a Virus. It has a message saying so-so has overtake this website...

Let's hope that they are able to get their site back up.

Yeah seems to be working fine, thought there for a minute Froggy is getting his revenge... :smt043

It's back up.

Well who's going to tell me my new Merc's are junk? and that a boat isn't a boat unless you have a walk through windshield. :smt038

Forum is still not up. At first I thought it was my computer until I tried a couple of other links.

Skolbe,
Not to worry. I'm sure you could have a walk through windshield installed. :smt043

You guys don't need the Boat US site.... Here it is in a nut shell. 1) SeaRay's are over priced. 2) All large SeaRay's have coring issues. 3) If you have an inboard then you have water intrusion problems brought on by poor exhaust systems 4) Kohler generators suck. 5) Portable generators will certainly kill you. 6) SeaRay's have poor resale values because "everybody has them" 7) If you have a Bravo 3 drive it will corrode and fall off within a year with no support from Merc. 8) David Pascoe is the SeaRay expert......... And in case you don't believe anything I just said I'm sure the fine posters over there like "Swampnut", "Tranquility Base", and "Weird Walt" will set you straight. I love those guys

What happened to that forum? It has gotten to the point that I don't even visit much anymore. All people do is trash talk about everybody and everything. (unless it's something they own...then it's the best ever made)

Used too be a real informative site.

I still visit and try to help out whenever possible but usually just with replies. I can't even remember the last time I started a thread over there. I just ignore the flaming and name calling stuff as much as possible. There are still some good people over there and occasionally I learn a thing or two as well.

But you cannot beat CSR. Our members are helpfull and courteous and for that reason this will always be the primary boating forum for me. :smt038

I agree with you Dave about Boat US forum and CSR!

Well since I haven't been on there in Months I thought I'd check it out.
Here's the first thread I saw.

#1 Okay folks, let's see if we can get to know each other a little better. I haven't spent much time on this forum, but I assume most of you enjoy boating and like to share your passion with others who feel the same way.

I posted this on the Hatteras site because I do own a Hatteras myself. That certainly does not make me special, I just happen to like Hatteras yachts myself. Forget about the brands of our respective boats and tell me how you all think on this subject.

Sharing Hatteras Owner/Operator Experience

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this is the side on the forum to list this topic, if not feel free to move it to The Sandbar.

It would seem that many new members come to the tech side of the forum to ask questions which vary in nature as they try to either learn about a Hatteras they are considering to purchase or have already purchased.

I just thought it may make for interesting conversation to have current and past Hatteras owners comment on their on the water experience with various Hatteras yachts. This could possibly come in handy in allowing new members to see who has the most experience in certain aspects of areas which may be of interest to them.

Personally, I have never kept a log for things such as maintenance or distances traveled primarily because I am a river boater for the most part. That seems to be changing these days, but before now, my river trips were limited to day trips to destinations which could easily be reached in 8 hours or less. Given previous time constraints, I did annual maintenance in regard to fluid changes and the like because of the low hours I put on a boat which was sitting undercover in freshwater. To wit, I change the oil once a year, usually at the beginning of a new boating season despite the fact I do a limited amount of running in the winter months.

Forgive me if this intro is too long, but I thought it may help to qualify the question and the intent to aid those who may have an interest in such things. On with the question, who will share their experience with the rest of us as it relates to this topic?

Thanks for the regurgitated Hat crap.

Hey hey, welcome aboard. This is like nothing I've ever experienced in the boating community.
If I met a guy like that on the dock and were to say that to my face I think I'd shove him off the dock :smt021 . There's no reason for it

Well Todd, If you didn't think that was nice you certainly wouldn't have liked the Doral thread that was closed because of a certain individual wishing that another owners boat sank. That kind of "stuff" is why I usually just post here.

Yeah I'm telling you that there's indeed some venom there. It's amazing what some people will post that they most certainly wouldn't say into your face(s)
