Here's a discussion.....
how did YOU come up with the name for your boat ??

I named my boat after my pure bred German Shepard. Got her when I was two, she lived a good 12 years.
Didnt know what to name my current boat, so....

Storm II

We were casually looking at boats and by chance came across the one we really wanted and now own: "Serendipity"

Well where as I own a plumbing heating and A/C company and work 365 days ayear and 24 hours a day my wife who is my general manager also works crazy hours we needed a diversion from the company so we could relax and enjoy since one office is at my house and the other is out of town so we are never far from work so we came up with (Our Diversion)

Mine is Event Horizon. But I spell it HoriXon becasue the X can take the place of a Z and it makes for a conversation starter. As for the name. A grade-B horor movie came out called Event Horizon and I just thought is was a great movie and got the idea to name the boat that. How ever. There is another reason. The definition of a event horizon is the edge of a black hole, the point where nothing can escape. Most especially my money. When I get near it, there is a sucking sound coming from my boat and my cash goes flying into it...........

Here is the definition I posted on a local website over the labor day weekend..

100% Chance of an Event HoriXon opening up on the lake this weekend. Take care my thug friends,
Definition: An event horiXon is a bad arss boat in spacetime beyond which events cannot affect an outside observer. In layman's terms it is defined as "the point of no return" i.e. the point at which the partying becomes so great as to make escape impossible. The most common case of an event horiXon is the one on Lake Martin. Party's emitted from beyond the horiXon can never reach the observer. Likewise, any object approaching the horiXon from the observer's side appears to slow down and never quite end the party on the horiXon,

Chose the name INN TOO DEEP because by the time I redid the cabin, the vinyl, and put a new motor, exaust, starter, oil cooler in it,thats where I was.

We named our 270 "ViewFinder" since it always finds a beautiful view and I'm a Photographer/Videographer by trade and always looking through a viewfinder. One view attached below, Mike.

Key West Dreamin', because that is what the Admiral and I are doing when on board (or not!)

Our Grew was "Schools Out" no brainier being a college professor but our next two boats have been "Be Happy" and "Be Happy 2".
The Be Happy because we bought a bigger boat and the Be Happy 2 because we bought a bigger boat, umm pattern here but it is now just the 2 of us and the dog. The wife loves the mid 90's 440 da and say's "with us and the dog it should be Be Happy 3 on the back of a 440".

Mine is named "Justified Priority"
I figured I made other peoples issues and emergencies my priority
for 30 years in the workplace...now this justified ME having a priority outside of it.

Im a paramedic in Canada and my friends tell me I'm very impatient...... Hence "No Patients"

Bluegrass Buccaneer

The admiral and I were both born and raised in Kentucky and we (along with the 2 kids) like the pirate theme. There were only a few "B" pirate-themed words to use (we like the alliteration), so that is what we ended up with.

"Smile Maker"
Since my wife is a dentist and she makes smiles on a dailey basis while the boat makes them on a weekend basis.

Hope Floats because when I got the boat in the water after delivery it starting taking on water. 2 months after a bunch of issues she was in the water again fixed. But now she is out again with an outdrive issue. Maybe a bad "New" upper gear case.

Being from the Philadelphia area, we are Phillies fans. My husband has wanted a boat for as long as we've been together. Our first boat was a combo of the two: Phinally Phloatin'

Beachcomber was my CB handle back in the 70's and 80's, and it just seemed to fit the style of boating we like to do...finding out of the way places to drop the hook, hang out, explore with the dinghy, etc.
