twin 4.3
Looking at 2005 280 sundancer with twin 4.3 mercs, need to know what size weight boat lift, what spacing for lift bunks (assume a 4 post lift) and what size lumber(height/width/length) for bunks, any help is greatly appreciated...Thank you

I have the exact boat and mine sits on a 10K lift with standard 2x6 bunks. I owned a marine construction company and manuy will say that a 10k lift is is not big enough. I can tell you that the beam size of a 10k and a 13k are the same in depth (meaning they have the same holding power) but the 13k lift will be wider to accomodate a wider beam boat. I have standard (3/4 or 1HP I forget) motors and it's wired 220volts. Never had a porblem and it's been on the lift since March 2010.

Thank you for the answer, helps a lot. Btw, what size/make cooler do you put under the sink?

Mine didn't come with the cooler. It's a odd size if I rememeber, somthing like a 38 quart cooler? You may need to do a search on this site or go to the 280 thread and ask the question. I have tools, BBQ utensils and towels under the sink so I never worried about the cooler.

I purchased my cooler from Walmart. Measure the space underneath. They should have made a slide out tray to sit the cooler on, it's a PITA to when you have to keep pulling it out

i have a 10k lift also with no problem. The problem I keep fighting is where to put the 2x6 runners. They want to sit right on top of the intakes and I smashed them until I realized it. Now I have them close together but its not real stable--tends to slip and tilt. If I go outside the intakes I will need a 2x12 or something so the bottom doesnt hit the beam. Anybody else solve this.

I am researching the same issue for my 2006, 280. Smashing the intake and tearing up the aluminum rails when not exactly floating off. Does anyone have the width measurements for a good spacing of the bunks?
