I own a 1978 Sea Ray Sundancer and the cover is in need of replacement. I have been searching the interent for one, but have not had any luck. Can any members possibly guide me to where I could obtain one.

Thanks,
George

Frank,

I am taking the same aproach except for new members...we have to give them an opportunity to get the information in their signature.

But I like your thinking!!!

Wesley, when we get old we get cranky on occasion. Today is one of those occasions when my cranky DNA is working overtime....sorry (not really) :smt021

George...don't be offended, my comments were not meant to be personal, its just a frustrating point of contention with me.. Sorry (really) ....

Thank you for informing me of the rules. I have a 1978 Sea Ray Sundancer. 24'4" with a 350 HP Mercruiser engine and Alpha I outdrive. The original 8 tracl player is still onboard and working. I have updated the signature portion of my profile.

WOW an 8 track! That is way cool!

I don't think you have a lot of choices on this one. The best you can do is get one of the ready made covers from a place like Boaters World. But that won't fit your boat exactly and it may be difficult to secure it to your boat as well especially if you want to use it as a mooring cover.

I think your best choice is to contact a canvas shop in your area and they should be able to make one for you that will be an exact fit for your boat. A lot of these places will come right to your boat to do the work. If you need the name of a trusted canvas shop, call your local Sea Ray dealer and ask them who they use for canvas work. Almost every boat dealer works with a local canvas shop for repairs and custom covers.

It's great to have someone on our board with a beautiful old Sea Ray. I really like the classic models like yours.

Thanks Dave S,

There is a Sea Ray dealer nearby on the Virginia side of the Potomac River. I think I'll cruise over there and see what can be done. I have searched the Sea Ray official home page, Ebay, and surfed the web with negative results. I never considered working with a dealer on a boat as old as mine.
