Anybody out there have a pic of a full boat cover support frame made from plastic pipe. Have a 340DA and will cover with plastic this year until I can get the Fisher cover for it.
Need to support the cover with a pipe frame.:smt100

For anyone building a pipe frame here is a link to PVC fittings that will be usefull but are not available at your local building supplier.

The other thing that I found is its cheaper to use PVC electric conduit instead of schedule 40 PVC pipe. It is also more UV resistant than schedule 40 pipe.

I built a green house using PVC pipe and have been using it for the last 4 years and it has held up to the wind load very well. (and grows great tomatoes)

I use 2X3's and string......but I winter in the water.....so its easy to do from my bulkhead.

I have a Cover Klamp System. It is special clamps with electrical conduit pipe. You can shrink wrap over it or cover it with a tarp. The secret is that it is entirely reusable year after year, custom to your boat and eminently durable.

I use strapping for mine. This is my fifth year using the same shrinkwrap. Put enough strapping, a couple of braces, buy a roll of shrinkwrap tape, ($10.00) a box of strapping, ($15.00 per box) and your good to go.

I paid $525.00 to put it on 5 years ago, not a dime since, except for the tape and strapping.

Very cost effective, and it works!!!

Where do you cut to remove in the spring?

I slit both back corners up about 2 feet, and push it forward to remove it. I put it on from the bow back, it fits like a glove. For the last couple of years I've put it on by myself, easy once you have a system. It takes me a couple of hours to strap it up, then another day, prefferably in the morning, before the breeze starts, I put it on. Easier than it looks.

I'll have to try that next winter.... GREEN BALLS TO YOU SIR:thumbsup:
