what unit are you guys using to get the Bluetooth audio signal from your phone/tablet to your stereo on your boat?

there are countless units for sale and i do not need a transmitter, just receiver for the stereo end that plugs into either a 3.5mm audio jack or a usb model but i have tried the generic usb Bluetooth dongles and they will not work with my stereo. a dedicated audio receiver might work as this was a Bluetooth receiver for a laptop that i tried.

i don't want to run a long wire to the helm and my wife sits on the port side and i don't want to pass a wire over to her when she will usually be holding the tablet or my phone or hers with the music.

I'm using the Fusion BT200 and am very happy with it. Placement is a huge factor on any of it. I raised mine directly behind the dash panel and I seem to have good coverage all the way around.

I'm using the fusion bt200 as well and it works perfectly well with the sony head unit. I replaced the aux rear in with this and all the wires and mess is hidden. Easily connects and sounds great.

so the fusion bt200 just plugs into the rca inputs on the back of any head unit no power or anything wired to it?

my stereo is in the almost perfect center of my boat so i should have no problem with reception as bluetooth has a requirement of being a 32' range.

that is the thread i was looking for but couldn't find it.

thanks.

I have ordered the Miccus TX transmitter for my TV and the Miccus RX receiver based on an upgrade that JimMD made. The transmitter plugs into my TV and the receiver into my Clarion stereo. The Miccus Receiver will also pick up from other bluetooth devices. I also did this so I can move TV to cockpit and not have to run wiring there either.

I have received everything this week-both the transmitter and receiver, but have not tried them out yet. Tomorrow, I am installing the TV mount on the arch and will test everything. I have looked at the TV mount on the arch all week. I am not real sure how to place the mount. Will do not good to use a level as the boat is very seldom if ever level. My idea is to measure up from the cockpit counter top and keep the mount level with it which would also make it level with the cockpit floor. This is not like in a house and sheetrock where, if you make a mistake, a little mud and paint and start over. Any ideas or suggestions here would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I have the Fusion bluetooth adapter and am quite please with it. Mounted behind the control panel down below and receives strong signal all over the boat when underway.

Let's see some pictures of your mount and the area you want to put it.

Miccus RX and TX perform beautifully. Plugged the receiver into Clarion aux jack and Transmitter into headphone jack on TV and was absolutely perfect. Closed cabin door and moved TV to cockpit and continued to work perfect. Paired iPhone and again with cabin door closed, range was about 25 feet radius as I moved around outside. Very neat addition to keep from running wires.
