If one is hanging on to the swim platform and wishes to do some hard business (no2), it will only work if the boat is on plane so a vacuum is created. LOL
Depends on which way you're hanging off -- it might create pressure. :wow:

I actually closed my valve once, we did a 4 nighter in Sydney Harbour. The last night we had a Guys Cruise with 2 boats. When I checked in the morning, The holding Tank was Chokkas (Full to the brim)
So whilst we had breakfast at the fishmarket, and cleaned the boat down, topped up the water tank etc....I climbed into the bilge and opened the valve, ready for the trip offshore, to dump it on the way back.
Yeah Yeah
When we got out the front, and I went to empty it...and so it was empty.....that swhen my mind went back to being a mechanic, and remembering venturi action (suction) realised what had happened.
Guess we left our mark on the harbour!
