Bigger boat or Lamborghini???

I would say split the difference buy the 510 and an S class Jaguar. I own neither but extremely partial to both. I know the Jaguar is not in the class of the other vehicles mentioned but I think their lines are beautiful. The 510 again the lines and the openness of the layout are magnificent. Thanks for allowing us to have an input spending your money, lol. Enjoy whatever outcome you choose.

I used to have a Cobra, I know the addiction of speed, but go for a Diablo, man!

Interesting post. Hmm, hey guys should I buy a lambo or a bigger boat? A few thoughts come to mind, but I won't share them.

Coming soon from China... the

Ahhh, the car, women love fast cars. And you can still enjoy it when it rains or it's cold out. Hot cars always turn my head :) you've got plenty of years to upgrade the boat. Wish I had this problem. Keep us posted

I don't get it.

LK

On the way home last night, a news article reported on a guy in Germany who had driven his new BMW to the FRankfurt Motor Show yeaterday, then laid into it in the front of the crowd, in protest that BMW would not repair his coplaints of vibration, rough gear changes etc.

The article then went on to report that this was not the first incidence of this occurring and mentioned a couple around the world. One being a Chinese Man who destroyed his new Lamborghini out of frustration that they wouldnt repair it to his satisfaction.

It was fresh in my mind, when I saw this thread, so I did a quick google search.

This link is better.

People often say things like "Your sooooo lucky", funny thing is, the harder I work the Luckier I get.

While I have a passion for both Ferraris and Lambos, I couldn't even come close to justifying either at this time in my life. If I could I'd much rather pick up a 2-3 year old M3 and spend some time on the track, and move up on the bigger boat. I hear the Lotus is also a blast on the track. I know, you won't get the same looks, but...the boat will provide more enjoyment in the long run.

By the way, I LOVE the quote above.

Buy the car, from memory back in your posts, your looking at a slightly used one. It is not going to devalue much over 12 months if that's the case.

You'll either love it and then start a car collection, or continually trade up.

Or

You will get your pleasure put of it, and tire of it. In which case, you can sell it and invest back into a boat.

Me, I value cars as much as boats...........and unfortunately spend way more time in the car than the boat.

"The harder I work, the luckier I seem to get" is so very, very true and often attributed to Thomas Jefferson but nothing has been found in his writings to substantiate that. F.L. Emerson quoted it and so did Samual Goldwyn the film producer.... smart men:) With regard to the Lambo the dentist next to our office bought one and all that did for him was lose him biz as our joint patients came into our office and said they wouldn't go back, if he can afford to buy that he's charging too much! Obvioulsy he wasn't that smart as he should've parked across the lot next to the Bentleys:) We even had to take the free yachting mags out of our waiting room for the same reason! Don't expect that would apply to the OP's biz so.............go for it.

IMO .... think American Muscle
Quick brutal torque is much more fun and useable than long distance fast
This old girl I built is a true 9 second street car and will run **in excess** of 160mph

Um.... have you ever driven an exotic? American Muscle has it's place. But, if you think that old car can handle like a Lambo, I think you need to re-evaluate. Those cars are only good in the straights. Plus, it's a totally different type of girl that would get excited over American Iron over a Lambo or Ferrari.... All things to consider.

BTW- the Lambo Aventador is an all-wheel drive, V12 with close to 700hp and does over 200MPH monster... (Not that I'm suggesting testing that) ...

Ummm... yes I have
it's way easier to find a 1/4-1/2 mile stretch to play with than it is finding 10+ miles to get one wound up
And that old beast actually handles better than you would think
built it to go turn AND stop.(and was well over 700hp)
I guess to each his own.
But in my position in life and work I guess I need neither.

And I find that to be the old Saskatchewan way of thinking. Hate everyone who is doing better than you are. My old man even growing up instilled it in my brain, "don't be jealous of people who have more, either embrace it or work harder and get it". I surround myself with people with the fancy toys and fancy houses etc etc, not because of the toys but they are successful, usually much more than I am, so being around them I learn learn learn.

This is a great car too. I love old muscle cars but just not for me. I have some buddies that have them and I always get excited to drive in them, but again just not for me. Maybe in a few years I will change my mind.
