Bigger boat or Lamborghini???

How do you know he doesn't do this already? Just because he is successful doesn't mean he isn't contributing to any causes. And trust me, if his government is like ours, he's paying a FORTUNE IN TAXES! So he is contributing more than his share!
Mike

+1 I was thinking the same thing. This isn't a philanthropy site so he probably wouldn't openly discuss how much money he may be giving to a charity. And if he did, someone would probably call him pompous for bragging about how much he's giving people! Congrats on your success. Figure out whichever will give you the most satisfaction. For me, without question, the boat would come first. You obviously appear to be a person who enjoys "partying" and sharing your success with your friends. You can share the joy of a boat with a LOT more people than you can the car. My .02...

Well the Lamborghini would be cool...in Cancun! You know your use in Saskatchewan will be extremely limited given the weather patterns in that part of the continent and, in particular, your province. I would hazard a guess that is why your boat isn't there!

buy a bigger boat, you'll enjoy it more.

Gang, trust me on this, we pay our share of taxes! Slightly higher level than south of the border.

Mark

I love both my cars and boats, but would have to agree with Mark on this one. Buy the boat! I drive my fast cars into Saskatchewan regularly from Alberta, and would concur that there is limited opportunity to truly unlease them!

Arl798, tried sending you a PM, but your inbox is full. I'm in Medicine Hat, Alberta, where in Sk are you?

Hmmm.... Asking this question on a Sea Ray board....

Arl, I don't know how many here are car guys, follow their passions, understand what you're saying, have ever owned an exotic.....

Are you on lambopower.com? How about ferrarichat.com? If you are serious about your purchase you should know these boards. Personally I like Fchat, but that's because of what I drive and the guys that are there. Lambo guys are typically a bit louder and and a bit more "in your face".... Not that that's a bad thing...just not my style. Fcars are a bit more subtle, if you can call it that and the guys tend to be a bit more reserved. The Ferraris turn heads and are a blast to drive. The Lambos are great cars with a lot of power. Both will be like a boat with issues you might want to discuss with other owners.

That said.....accounting for all others opinions.... Do what the "F" you want. If you've never owned an exotic, just do it.... Follow your heart. You don't want , 20 years from now, saying to yourself "I wish I had".

Without getting into details, I have some experience here.... contact me if you want to discuss.

Bigger boat, You can always rent a fancy car when needed.

Arl798-

Wow, I am impressed! But not to be a buzz kill, but let me be the voice of reason for one moment. Those "things" as cool as they are, will only bring you temporary satisfaction and not true joy. It sounds like you are very successful, and deserve what you have for working hard. However, imagine what that kind of money could do if you used it more wisely and for others. I've been to rural northen Canada a lot snowmobiling, and I know it is tough outside of the oil/gas areas. Logging/mills closed everywhere. Imagine how using that money to help the local schools where you are from, or using it to feed those less fortunate. Again, not trying to rain on your parade, you deserve what you have, but to hear of a "young buck" such as yourself already have many of the luxeries that so many in our own countries (let alone other countries) can only dream of. True joy will come from serving and helping others. The new "stuff" joy, although very exciting at first, wears off pretty fast and then you are faced with the next thing to buy to fill that void. With that kind of coin, you could literraly provide safe drinking water by purchasing a well in Africa. With that kind of coin you could purchase tons of wool blankets to various disaster relief efforts, both here and abroad. You sound like a good guy and a fortunate one who realizes how "blessed" you are, maybe it would be worth considering some other uses with your discretionary income than blowing it on a fancy car??? Not trying to be a downer, but if I had your fortunes, I feel more practical about how/what I would spend at least some of that discretionary income. I'm not saying give up all the fancy stuff and live like mother Theresa, but think about how cool it would be to have a much needed addition to your local grade school named after you. Or the satisfaction that you can purchase fuel oil for heat for those that can't afford it back home. Nuff of the soap box, but it does seem like you could come off the wrong way with some with such a "dilemma", bigger boat or fancy car.....just saying.....Good luck with whatever you do. I do enjoy your posts! :)

I always appreciate everyone and anyone insight, this is the reason we have forums like this.

To respond to your msg, I myself give a lot back. In fact I have over xxxK in charitable receipts in the past 3 years. I belong to a young business mans group and our soul purpose is to raise money. Our 2 charities are big brothers big sisters and we have a farm where young autistic adults live, work and thrive at. The farm is an organic farm, and has animals and produce. Philanthropy is definitely something I love to do. Believe it or not we raise over 200k in 3 hours at our annual "Boys lunch out" which is a men's only lingerie lunch in. Best lunch of the year.

I work over 250 days a year in the forest away from my family and friends and miss out on many of the things "normal people" get to do like go to weddings, birthdays, family reunions, etc etc etc. So if I didn't have any of these " luxuries" I would have a hard time staying motivated. People often say things like "Your sooooo lucky", funny thing is, the harder I work the Luckier I get.

Forget the Lamborghini and pick up something you can thrash on the race track where you can really drive it to its potential. The costs of thrashing a Lamborghini on the track will make your head soon an it will beat you at resale.

I understand the allure of the super cars but I you can only drive it on public roads its a lot of wasted potential- they do look cool in the driveway.

Been monitoring Lambo power for over 3 years...I don't say much I just listen as I don't have one. I know nothing fun is cheap to own or maintain so I am at peace with that. I wouldn't say their are many Ferrari's where I live but way more than Lambo's so would be cool to have something different.

I am assuming my dad will drive it more than me anyways hahaha and he loves the Lambo's.

Ill be a little voice in your head. I am around these cars all the time. If you have never owned something like a high end European car, buy an AMG Merc or a BMW M car first. Lower maintenance, still rare(especially in Canada) and things like tires and brakes will give you something to expect maintenance-wise.

I have a supercharged range rover so believe me I know the maintenance lol Everytime I start it up something goes wrong with it.

I'm sorry to hear that. Either of the two brands I suggested would be trouble free compared to that.

You should get a newer one. I've got a 2013 LR4 HSE Lux and its been perfect. The newer models seem to have less issues.

I agree with the track car idea. The Lambo may look sexy, but you'll almost never get to really use it to it's full potential - even on a track, since they aren't great track cars without mods.

Pick up a screaming track toy (Arial Atom, KTM X-Bow, etc.) that you can ENJOY thrashing on a track. You'll get more real behind the wheel enjoyment out of it. Then go load up the boat with women to balance the equation.

I agree that a newer, bigger boat will entice and hold more Senoritas!

I agree...this is mine....:smt001 (spoiling the thread, sorry)

Sell the boat and take that money plus upgrade money and get the Lambo Aventador! If your gonna splurge that would be the one! Never been a supercar fan but thats the one that does it for me. I say variety...have both!
