I'm planning on taking the boat out for a ride tomorrow (Friday). It looks like that will be my last chance for a while! If I want to stay out of the rain.

It should be fine where our boats are, but I feel for the people along the cosumnes river which is expected to flood. I think I read they are closing Yosemite and the low lying parks along the American river in Sacramento this weekend. Ski resorts should be happy though!

More rain and snow, just doesn't want to stop but looks like a break this weekend. Check out how deep the snow is compared to the ski lift at Kirkwood Resort!

So much for your California drought conditions. Let's hope this year is not just an anomaly, but rather a new norm.

We're getting it too. We have had a record snowfall, and now the lows are 0 or less with highs in the teens.
I have so much snow around my place that I'm running out of places to put it while still keeping the driveway open.
I took the wife to work yesterday and saw that the slip around you boat is thawed Mike. One of the few.

We're looking at 40's into the high 50's by the end of next week here in the midwest. Hopefully by giving us this weather now, it doesn't make Mother Nature think she has the right to extend winter into May!

Maybe some rain next week for us. I gotta shovel some roofs before that happens.

Well, it's been over a month and the storms have not stopped for more than a few days. Another one on the way over the next couple of days. Lakes are too full and huge releases are raising the level of the rivers and our Delta. Many marinas are flooding, sooooo much debris in the water from the banks that haven't seen this type of water level for probably 20 years. Debris, dead tule, logs, etc have floated out under the Golden Gate Bridge even! Lake Oroville had the spillway collapse and the emergency spillway let too much water out and started to compromise the entire dam, forcing the evacuation of over 180,000 people. I am stuck kind of like those of you in the North and East with not being able to boat for probably the next 2 months! I don't want to risk compromising the levee system and also don't want to damage my boat on the crap that is in the water. If only the politicians would get their heads out of their asses and create more water storage reservoirs to capture all of the water we receive during these big storms, we wouldn't need to be too concerned during our periods of drought.

This next couple of days look like up to over 4" of rain in an area already swollen with no capacity to hold this volume of water from flooding. Check out the forecast: https://www.wunderground.com/US/CA/006.html

When you guys successfully secede from the nation, this sounds like a great agenda item for the new President of California. Lol... sorry, couldn't resist :smt043

On a serious note, I just returned from the Bay Area and many of my co-workers' homes and property are being hurt by this weather. It's a hard situation, years of drought and now property being devastated by unrelenting rain.

I know, I got kind of spoiled the last few years boating during the winter. It's disappointing that we won't be able to get out on the water for a while.

How are things at Perry's? Willow Berm has been flooding at high tide. They have sandbagged the buildings and shut off the power twice a day at high tide to keep from causing more damage. Luckily no major damage but I'm a little worried if this rain doesn't stop soon. I don't know how much more the levees can take!
