Hello,

I've looked high and low and didn't find a thread like this. I am curious what tips / tricks and cleaning products you all use. I would love to find some type of cleaning products in bulk / whosale - but if not retail is ok.

So what are your cleaning practices / waxing polishing and all the hard work. Also I posted a poll of the waxes I know about to find out who the best is.

Thanks for the hand
Bill

Hey Bill, Check this linkhttp://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30482&highlight=Second+Coat+of+wax

I personally liked the Mequiars Flagship Marine product.

As far as buying in bulk I don't know what to tell you. You might see if your local car detail supplier has any Marine grade products. I did and I wasn't too impressed with the product from "Auto Magic". I mean it's ok but I think the Meguiars product is far better.

Many professional detailers prefer Collinite Wax. Before waxing, compound only if shine is gone. Start with a clean surface before waxing. Some prefer non-wax product such as Mequires Flagship, a polymer based product.

I have researched this on the net and I have found that Heller Glanz to be the best product for do it yourself. I ordered it off the net and delivered in 3-4 days and used it this season before i put my boat in and I found it to go on fairly easy and come off fairly easy and give an excellent shine. It is a liquid not a past. Just Google Heller glanz. Im not sure the spelling is exact but close.

I am a fan of leverage polish, but not a big fan of the oxidation remover, the ox remover tint was hard to remove off the white hull

Meguires is good stuff.. I always begin each season with a cleaner wax and finish with Flagship. 4 to 5 coats always !!! BTW I do not have a covered slip and my boat is in the water all season.. still shines after all these years

Does anyone wax the cockpit area of their cruiser or only the hull and deck?

I use the Meguiars Wax on the cockpit White side walls and "Woody Wax" on the floors ( non-skid) and the Dark Painted areas. Hey, Woody wax is the best for all but the gelcoat. JG.

i use a spray detailer from meguires :smt001

thanks for the thoughts. I will try Flagship on the cockpit gel. Woody wax on the brown topd deck? It is not smooth, how would I apply. Just spray and wipe? I have never used Woddy Wax.

I use starbrite polish on the hull, deck, cockpit and head/shower.

Do you let starbrite go to a haze??? or do you wipe off right away????
