Shiver my timbers, next week our temps are going to take a dive like the stock market. Our local forcast is for negative temps on Wednesday into Thrusday ...there will be pink slush in the veins of Stray Cats next week...not sure how far south this is going...tell me again why I live here?

I see single digit lows forecast for Mid TN next week...but No Negatives.

At least you are not flooding to boot!..or are you?

You in the water or out?

dropping all the way to 50's here for 2 days... That is why I left the cold cold north. Love my shorts and sandals in Jan and feb

Where is "here"?

I think Qunit4's "Where is here"? was for MaxiesTaxi. There is no location listed.

In the Chicago Area, and probably across the center of the Midwest the coldest time of the winter is the 3rd and 4th weeks of January. Hold on Stray Cat, Scott, and the rest of us. The worst is almost past us.

Took off from work a little early and got in a sunset cruise yesterday. We were going to spend the night on the boat but the cold front came thru about 8pm with 50 mph gusts. Looks like teens here in a couple of days. Heading to the marina to put the Xtreme back in the bilge.

single to negative digits here next week as well......We have 6-9" of white stuff coming tonight too.
Maybe Obama will create a job where I can relocate!

Sunday may be a good day to go to the pole barn to check on the Sea Ray with below zero weather coming next week. I cannot treat it like the dog and bring it into the house over night: cannot get the Ray thou the kitchen door.

Uplate - No flooding here now, last summer...that was a different story. Our boat is high and dry inside a locked indoor storage facility.

No slush in Michigan City, IN, or more specifically B&E Marine, 31 Lakeshore Drive, Building c3, Michigan City, In. N4143.2 W08653.3

sfergson727 - I didn't know the Benz boys had indoor storage. I always thought they wrapped them and blocked them in the parking lots. Damn that has to get cold there being right off the lake and all. Are you going to the Chitown boat show at McCormick?

All single digits here from tomorrow night on to the weekend.

Some snow coming too on top of the around 8+" still on the ground.

Im loving this chit! Ponds will be frozen for a while...anyone interested in some pond hockey on Saturday? :smt001

We have never winterized Mrs R's engine compartment raw water systems, until now....Seeing that it's going to be in the teens 3+ nights in a row I just called the mechanic and told him to winterize her.

Damn, why couldn't i get laid off in the summer? You know when its 80, sunny and the boats in the water.....:smt009

-20F at 11pm, we might get down another 5-7 degrees yet. Thursday nite supposed to be 10 degrees colder than tonite. Let the dog out, he said screw it to cold, pissed on the truck tire and came back in. Boating/sun seems a distant memory.

I'm sure your not the only one scambling to winterize in their boat. The forcast calls for 17 degrees in Atlanta. :wow:

We have a Boat Safe heater in the bilge and a Caframo heater in the cabin. I am more worried about losing power or one of the two, or both, not working for whatever reason.

Woody - Hope he doesn't freeze himself to the rim!

This is not the kind of weather you want to stick your tongue on the pump handle or the flag pole...

Single digits here too. The boat is on the trailer & has not been winterized. Sure hope the bilge heater works!

Id be worried if there is any fluid, heater or not in those temps! :smt021

My vessel is in the garage and winterized. Even in the garage, which is more or less "heated", im not taking chances. My luck sucks.

I'll probably drain the block this afternoon. My biggest worry is a power outage. I do have a remote thermostat in the bilge so I can monitor it from the house but would feel awfull bad should I wake & find it frozen :wow:
