Battery Converter / Charger

see reply im kind of chasing all summer, thx
i brought my home charge to boat to charge it on hook. wierd it last all day and i run eng and gen during day
only fridge is on at night

Check that your charger is actually functioning, meaning lights on etc. when on the generator. Run your generator, switch the boat over to the generator and turn the breaker off on the dock.

To me sounds like your charger is not running while on the generator.

A couple of reasons - A true starting battery is good at high amperage cranking but poor at delivering steady state current like for house loads or helm loads. A true deep cycle battery conversely is designed to provide those long duration loads but they do not have the lead bridging inside to handle high current starting loads.
Typically a "Group 27 Marine" and "Group 31 Marine" battery is dual purpose.

Doesn't your boat have two battery banks? One for the Starboard engine starting / House loads and one for the Port engine starting / Helm loads? There should be two dual purpose batteries in each bank for the 300DA I thought. Having different battery sizes and/or ages in a bank will not ensure they achieve peak charge.

lights are on , in fact it will light up all 3 green but house is still not fully charged. thx

I'm sorry, I'm still having a hard time following your post - between the way it's typed and mis-spells/etc, it's really hard to decipher. I'm trying, though! But maybe you could re-read and amend the post? Or just respond directly to these statements/questions?

However, if I'm reading correctly:

House battery is of an unknown age.

All batteries have a resting voltage of 12.3V.

Starting batteries are receiving the proper charging voltage.

The house battery is NOT receiving the proper charging voltage.

-- If they are charging, 12.3V as a resting voltage means they're kaput
-- Try moving the questionable charging lead to another battery
-- As noted above, please clarify your battery setup.

house battery is deep cycle brand new
resting is 12.2 w/out charge ill double check tomorrow again valtage while maintaining. (never had issue w starting batteries but not 100 %sur eof thier age)
i did try moving leads and same result, but i did not disc. neg lead // shouldnt matter but just mentioning it // same lower voltage at house battery
setup is 2 starting batt/ gr 27/////1 house battery and 1 bow thurster. both new and group 31
hope that helps,thx rob

What does "same result mean"? The house battery still didn't charge or the "suspect" lead still didn't do anything?

Regardless, you need to address whether or not the house battery is good. Use a known-good charger (or charging lead) and charge it fully. Then turn off the charger and use a high-demand accessory for about 10 minutes. Check resting V. Ideally, load test it.

Let's do this is a starting point.

I need to change my boat signature
I now have 01 3575 cruiser yacht as well
This is the boat with the battery issue I'm thinking it may be tied and parallel the house battery to the bow thruster battery I shut all of them off today and the bow thruster still works so I need to figure out which battery that is wired too good advice on the dual purpose battery and never use starting batteries but the boat came with them

Ah - I thought we were on the 300DA.
