I was out in Raritan Bay and we had some pretty go blow from the SW at 10-15mph. Made for a nice day out on the bay to keep the air moving, but going back through my Inlet to my Marina was fun as I have a Train Bridge that has to go up for me to get in and I had to constantly make corrections in the inlet with 5 boats behind me and 2 in front on an outgoing tide and the wind. Everybody was having fun. :) I can only imagine what Barnegat Inlet was like. At least they all had Life Jackets on.

I have seen several boats sink... Alex F and I saw one Sank near the Barnegat Inlet. It went down very quickly... The boat across the lagoon from my house sank at the dock... I believe most boat sink at the dock, many times from shore water left on... I also saw two boats catch on fire... Thankfully, I no one was hurt, and it was never my boat...

It said in the article they hit a jetty. Rocks can sink a boat real fast.
