Richard has posted the 2010 schedule for the Bahama's Boating Flings...

Fling Schedule for 2010

June
2 – 6 Bimini
16 – 20 Grand Bahama Island
23 – 27 Bimini

July

7 – 11 Grand Bahama Island
14 – 25 Abaco/Grand Bahama Island (Extended)

28 – 8 Bimini/Chub Cay/Nassau/Cape Eleuthera (Extended)

They got the schedule out much earlier than last season.

4 days in Bimini? Seems like a long time.

The extended one with Bimini, Nassau, Chub and so on sounds great. It would be nice to have them to do the "front" work on a long trip like that.

Looks like the Bahamas website updated the dates slightly. The pickings are getting slimmer. Definately, less trips than last year.

June

17 – 21 Bimini
24 – 28 Grand Bahama

July

8 – 12 Bimini
15 – 26 Abaco/Grand Bahama (Extended)

August

5 – 9 Bimini
12 –23 Bimini/Cape Eleuthera/Nassau (Extended)

The pages says 2009 dates above....I'm confused.

Yeah, I don't think they have the 2010 schedule listed yet.

Looking forward to going again!!!

Tom,
I like the idea of that trip also. If I don't go on that one I will probably plan my own as that's a trip I'd like to make.
I heard the Exumas are awesome.

While the page may state "2009" - this is definately their (revised) 2010 schedule.

I do hope that they add more events. However, I will state that the fling I went on last July only had about six boats participate.

Updated...again. At least this time, the website says "2010 Fling Schedule" - It looks like from my previous posts, that the 2009 and 2010 schedule both got mixed up at some point.

We are shooting to go on the 16 June Trip. Anyone else going?

June

2 – 6 Browns Marina, Bimini
16 – 20 Port Lucaya Marina, Grand Bahama

23 – 27 Bimini Bay Resort & Marina, Bimini

July

7 – 11 Port Lucaya Marina, Grand Bahama
14 – 25 Abaco/Grand Bahama (Extended)

July - August

28 – 8 Bimini/Chub Cay/Nassau/Cape Eleuthera (Extended)

I'll definitely be going on one of the Bimini trips, and hopefully one of the others as well.

I usually go on the first Bimini one, but not crazy about Brown's Marina (we stayed there last year).. I still think they will update this schedule as it gets closer to March and April..

The first Bimini trip to Brown's Marina works best for my schedule but I have never been to Bimini and I'm not sure about Brown's Marina. Is this Marina not worth the trip?

I would be trailering from SC....where should I put the boat in and store the truck and trailer while in Florida? I would like to make this work.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.:smt100

It's definitely not about the Marina, It's about the people you meet and hang out with, it's about the fresh conch salad every day, the crystal clear turquoise water, the sites to go snorkeling or fishiing or just hanging out. Brown's is not my favorite place to stay; I'd rather be at Bimini Bay, but I go where everyone else goes and have fun. Are you staying on your boat or do you have to stay at the hotel? If you have to stay at the hotel, then I would NOT got to Browns, I'd wait for the Bimini Bay trip...but if you are staying on your boat, then Browns is a lot of fun!

We would be staying on the boat. Brown's sounds fine to me....but in the other threads some people liked Brown's and some did not.

Are there any other CSR's thinking about the Bimini trip 6/2-6/6/2010?

I'm kind of worried about where to leave my truck and trailer and launch the boat too.

Thanks for all the help.

I know there is a safe and secure place in Dania at Harbortown Marina. Well, not sure how safe and secure but others in our group do it every year and I haven't heard of any problems. We don't trailer so I can't tell you for sure but like I said, no one in our party has bad a problem the past years. We are probably going to Bimini again this year just not sure with our group, the Bimini fling or just a small group we hang out with each weekend. We will see.

I would not stay at Browns. Bimini Bay is very nice resort atmosphere, not loud at night (Browns has a dance club right next to it I think). My opinion, and again this is MY OPINION, you are going away for vacation, why not splurge a little bit. It is not that much more to stay at Bimini and the pools make it SO worth it.
