The guy that had the wakeboard booth is local and those were brand new pools/tanks. Going to be interesting to see what happens. One of the problems he had going into the show was that he could not use his guys to set them up, but had to hire union people from the convention center?? I wonder who is going to get stuck with the $100K clean up bill???

Unions have way to much power, He should have been able to use his own experienced guys to setup the tank!!
but we need to make sure we pay the union people first because they deserve it :smt021:smt013

They could have used their own guys but would still have to pay the union guys to sit around and do nothing.

Perhaps they can apply for a gov't bailout!

Moparlover - "you ain't seen nothing yet"! Winter is real tough on the guys "on the hard"...

I was there at 11 and my MM sales guy got me in - it was a "Servicemaster moment". They had those guys on scene in 20 minutes sucking up, squeegeeing, and pumping! It was kind of fun to have most of the show to myself.

MM had the 450 SB and 450 DA there with QSCs and Zeus. Both are now single head boats. $680k for the 450 DA and $830K for the 450 DB. Get out those checkbooks!

Oh - and Moparlover - we have a rule around here - "Never pick a fight with a man who owns a Chrysler product...'cause he's mad already"!

The wife & I will be there in the morning. We look forward to the learning experience every year. Can't say I'll miss that "wakeboarding pool" or whatever they called it. It was a loud, distracting, kid magnet that had no place at a boat show. Of course this is just my opinion.

The show was nice this year. I can't believe how many people waited in line to see the sedan bridge. At one point it was over thirty minutes. My wife and I did end up putting earnest money down on a 260 sun deck those shows cost a lot of money.

We went yesterday. It was a madhouse. The wait for the 450DB was well over an hour. The MM guys said they were selling boats like it was 1999. Interestingly, no canvas people, no wax guys, no silicone people, I think I saw one underwater light display (I certainly could have missed something). Lots of runabouts and pontoons. Not a lot of cruisers. A couple of tugboat looking things...go figure. Ran into a BUNCH of people we knew. Kids had a great time. I'm thinking a Six Pack (OUPV not exercise) is in my future. It really is beginning to annoy me that I'm the least credentialed boat operator on my flippin' dock. I bet we have ten guys with USCG licenses. Next year, I'm going on a Thurs or Friday. Yesterday was nuts.
