What would you want if…

…you were the CEO of an auto manufacturing company that just offered a new electric car?

…you were the head of a union that derives its power from dues paid by workers that manufacturer those electric cars?

…the president of a country that your biggest political allies were unions and anti-individual environmentalists?

…the president of a country that owned a big stake in the car company building electric cars?

…the president of a country that campaigned on higher energy prices to force us to conserve?

… the president of a country that had operatives around the world at your beck and call that could foment unrest via social media and leave no “fingerprints” to achieve all the above.

You would want higher energy prices???

What can you add to the list???

Obamayomama probably gets a lot of love from the oil companies. He drools when the prices go higher! If he comes back for another term it's time to reconsider what we are doing here...

They can puish those electric cars bujt nobody's gonna buy any. Look at the "Smart" Car. Not to many of them jokes on the road. But Dodge is selling Challengers even still. Americans will always want real cars. No matter how much the green adjenda is pushed on us.

He needs to go, I hope in 2012 this nation grows a brain.

I couldn't agree more. Sad part is we have a long way to go and haven't made much progress. Sarah Palin? Mike Huckabee? John McCain? Really?.........Really? With all due respect to Mr. McCain, this is a lame list of names. Lately I even heard Jeb Bush's name being thrown around.

You may convince me that Jeb Bush, or Elmer Fudd for that matter, would be the best president ever. You'll never convince me however that anyone of them could win in 2012. Not a chance.

Republicans Never get to select their nominee for president. The media always influences the selection. Mr. McCain would not have won last time but for two reasons: first the media and second many of the early primary voting states allow anyone including independents and Democrats to vote in Republican primaries. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO VOTE IN A PRIMARY! Check the constitution. Only declared members of a party should be allowed to cast votes for party nominees. Rush was wrong to suggest Republicans vote for Hillary in the primaries last time. I also believe Democrats would select different candidates many times as well if outsiders weren’t allowed to vote in their primaries.

As for the media, Republican’s never have the ba!!s to just do their own debates. They seem to allow politically opposed news readers to moderate their debates. This results in questions being asked from the liberal mind and in liberal terms. You will never hear this question: Seeing as how all money belongs to the people, what is a fair amount of it for government to take for the help programs? It would be more like, Since children are dying how can you propose a tax cut? The first debate has been surrendered: “Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is set to hold the first debate among presidential candidates on May 2, an event moderated by Brian Williams of NBC and John Harris of Politico.com.”

That’s how it works.

Personally, I'm glad we just bought a fiesta. 36 mpg combined city/hwy ftw. Plus it's fun to drive.

I know there are people who will debate this till dooms day, but...IMHO....John McCain handed the presidency to Obama when he chose Sara Palin as his running mate...

Are you saying McCain could have won? I wouldn't bet a pb sandwich McCain would win with god as a running mate against the media's demi-god.

"could have",....Yes

Obama owes his presidency to that large breasted Borg chick 7 of 9 from Star-Trek. I’m serious!

In my own, personal view, he made three blunders that made him an unviable candidate;

1) He failed to campaign in the Summer of 2008; His opponent never really stopped after wrapping up the nomination.

2) He nominated Palin. Sure. . Palin came off as a ploy to woo women voters after Hillary was not selected by Obama. Women were not nearly stupid enough to fall for that. . . and once you look past the gender politics. . . you were left with . . . .

3) He tried a cute trick with the economic crisis and politics surrounding a Presidential debate. He claimed the TARP vote was so important, that a Presidential debate should be cancelled. His opponent said multi-tasking was a Presidential pre-requisite.

Of course. . . with the economy tanking, and the blunders in the Iraq war, electing someone from the incumbent party was a stretch even if the they had nominated a good candidate.

When everyone gets the warm fuzzies about these electric cars, remember the figures are based on optimal conditions, no AC/heat, audio amps etc. window defrosters in use etc. And less we forget when you drive that car downtown or wherever the new meter driven power meters on which , guess what the cities will have a tax added to the charging cost, Then there is the additional cost of disposing of old batteries, etc.

Smoke and mirror, same as the Ethanol crapola

Electric cars are smoke and mirrors.
My brother-in-law is a GM dealer here in Maryland; he can not even order a Chev. Volt to sell.
He says that only four cites in the country will be allowed to sell the Volt this year and only 10,000 will be made in 2011.

But as far as the cars go, I could care less if gas was $10.00! I'm still rollin my family in full sized cars. I have seen too many wrecks where the tiny ass cars fail the occupants and they are crushed and killed. Many years ago my ex wife got cut off by a Pontiacx grand am. She was driving a 90 Suburban. 2 year old grand am totaled. ( his fault ). My suburban, bent front bumper and twisted valance plate (under grille). She drove off. He towed home. Oh. My children, slept thru the entire wreck. No small cars for me or my family.

McCain could have never won with any choice as VP. The handlers that ran his campaign were clueless. All the errors Palin stated in her book were true about the campaign. They were afraid to take the gloves off with Obama because they feared the media blitz he was getting and the race card. Palin would have been a better Presidential choice than McCain or Obama. Even AZ gun owners don't like McCain for being soft on gun control, etc. We had over 10,000 voters come an see Sarah in our little town in PA! Joe Biden only had 500 the same day in town here. So far we have nobody to run against Obama in 2012 IMHO. I'd vote for Condoleezza Rice in 2012....now I'm really PC, Mike.

I should have probably posted this here instead of there? Don't worry I may not know where I am going, but I will know when I get there.

Sure seems we are heading that way at times, but I like to apply The USA version thought processes perpetuated by the darling media folks contrasted to what the rest of the world might be seeing. I love the USA, but not how the media presents issues.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soylent_Green

Most folks quite using their gray cells some time ago and buys solely what the media espouses.

The reality is that the USA only about 5% of the planets population and there are many other factors which often need to be considered.

Lets throw some simple math in for an example and say the USA is an even 300 million folks and 20% of these folks drive cars, comes to 60 million cars,

Now lets say China is an even 2 billion folks who have the same 20% who drive cars, or they have 400 million cars. Note this is more then the current population of the USA.

We have not even considered Pakistan or India with over one billion folks, closer to 3 billion. same 20%, 600 million cars

So something is going to have to give, and we need to get the crooks out now.

So where is price of oil going?
