I have central vac on my 420DA but it's a pain. I have a Dyson DC35 rechargeable at home and thinking of getting one for the boat. Thoughts?

We have the DC31 and love it.

Critical equipment on JJV with three Hairy dogs on board! Works great!

We have one and love it. Never leave the dock without it on board. The only thing is being able to re-charge it out on the hook. We have an inverter, so it's not a problem for us. But the battery doesn't last all that long, so if you are out for a few days it is dead if you use it a time or 2 each day. Still love it anyway.

I just used ours for the first time on our boat the other day, worked GREAT!!. I'm throwing away our plug in 12 V vacuum now.

We use a portable on board as well (not a Dyson) even though we have the central vac system. Most times is much easier to pick up the light loose stuff quickly without having to lug out the hoses and attachments and such. takes longer to set up the central than it does to vacuum what you want. For the more "full" cleaning days we'll use the central.

I just bought a Bosch rechargeable tool from Amazon, (not sold in the US). They shipped it from Korea, it uses my rechargeable 18V batteries. Excellent tool...!!! Highly recommended for the boat..!!
We were having dinner (chinese) the other evening and my buddy spilled his rice all over the carpet, there was rice everywhere..!! Mike the boat owner had a Makita rechargeable and it got every grain up, that really demonstrated how effective and valuable a tool they are.

See now that sounds interesting. I love how the power tool folks are now incorporating multiple tools into the same battery "system". Most of mine are Milwaukee so I'll have to see if they've got a vacuum option.

I have the Rigid system also, but they don't make the vacuum. Amazon reviewers were what convinced me to go with the Bosch besides they're excellent reputation.

Cool, thanks for the tip/idea I'll have to check it out, and yes Bosch makes nice stuff I wouldn't hesitate to buy their gear.
