Any Lake George Boaters Here???

I am headed up Lake George the end of June for a couple nites, we will most likely stay on the boat at the town docks, we did that last June 07 and it was a great time. $110 to park, launch and a weekend sticker at the Bolton Marina last year.

I am looking for a place with a dock/slip to rent for a week this summer.
Wow are the prices high, looks like $2400 and up for a decent place to stay, I guess I will keep looking.

Let us know how the Canoe Island Lodge is, it looks like they have a lot of scheduled activities.

Happy Boating
John

We go to O'Sullivans. it cost about 1,100 for the week for an efficency with the dock space. Older hotel but clean

Hello all,
Just found this thread...
I guess I would qualify as a local...A friend of mine who used to run the water sports @ Depe Dene, bought Treasure Cove. He is a great guy and also has his own ramp and docks as well. His name is John Seh...Tell him George sent you.
We also used to stay @ Scotties which is almost in the village...same thing, they have a ramp and docks.
See ya on the water!

my family and i just got back from a week long stay at lake george. as a matter of fact, we too, did stay at the treasure cove resort also. i met john last year @ labor day w/e and his resort has it all. one of the best boat launches/docks w/electricity/free paddle boats/canoes/port fire pits/grills/tons of free ice/2 heated pools...this place has it all! we've been staying here for @ 4 yrs and he's really made a change. we also checked out scotty's during our stay and this place seems a little "out dated". treasure cove's docks sit in a protected cove which leaves the waters pretty calm compared to the open lake. the lake is loaded with fish also. we had great luck each time we went out regardless of the time of day. you can also dock your boat at some of the islands too. sandy bay along with log bay are some pretty cool places to hang out at. the lake is very well markered also. i use my stainless prop here without worrying at all. we're also planning on a 3 day w/e @ labor day. this lake is awesome!

A couple of nice things to do..

There is a book called "Lake George fact or fancy" you can probly find it online...It gives some history and stories about the lake...We bought one and explored each part of the lake it mentioned.

Get a set of charts..(about 30 bucks) well worth it and explore the many islands.

Does anyone know if Chic's marina still rents jetski's this year? Last year they where the only ones left on the lake who were renting.

Sounds like a good time.....I think the admiral and I are headed up there very soon. We will definitely head up there next year on a planned vacation. Were there places to anchor and get out of the boat? Beach areas?

Oh yeah...Tons of places to anchor..Sandy bay has buoys to tie off...some in 2-3 feet of sand.
There are lots of bays to anchor...
There are a few resturants with docks...
In the village there are public docks ($2.00 per hour) that gives you access to any kind of store you are looking for and ICE CREAM shops!! Bars...and parks..
The most beautifull islands are in the narrows..(not really all that narrow) and the mother bunch...
Look online and I bet you can find a pretty good map to look around..

log bay is @2ft at its shallowest pt. just jump outta the boat @ 3ft and anchor it deep in the bay. the view is unbelievable there.

2009 Any Lake George Boaters Here???

I thought I would bring this thread back to life.

My boat is going to be in a slip this year at Harris Bay Yact Club.

I am really looking foreword to being up ther for the whole season.

Anyone else going up?

I am on Lake George and can help you with anything you need. I kept my 260 in the Bolton Landing marina which is a boatel and now my 320 is on the southeastern shore. I know that Harris Bay Yachtclub has day rentals and I am also aware of a slip available in Dunhams Bay. Depe Dene has a few left and I think Snug Harbor may have a couple as well. Snug Harbor, Dunhams are on the east shore north of the village. Let me know if you need any help.

Looks like I'll be joining the ranks of Lake George boaters in 2010 with a slip at Dunhams Bay. I love the marina I'm at on the hudson now, but there's barely anything entertaining to do, and when something occasionally comes up like the Alive at Fives or fireworks I can never go due to having to make it through the locks before closing time.

I'm looking forward to the move. My brother's boat has been up there for a couple years now and he's been bugging me to move mine up there since I bought it.

Great place that is where I bought my boat. I wish is could go there all summer but it is about 2 hours from were I am located. we go for a week every year.
So i am stuck on the Hudson River
