Hi !
After really getting into the refurb of my 1977 240WE I/O , I became aware of the
lack of parts being stocked for this fine craft.
I was at a marina out on Lake Oconee (just in case Lanier becomes a dust bowl) and was
being shown the boat storage yard and I happened to see a bunch of boats just piled up at the far end.
I asked the owner if I could take a look at this collection of boats just left in
lieu of back due rent.
To my surprise, there were about 6 or 7 boats with the OMC stringer I/O's in them.
There were some old Merc Alphas or pre-Alphas units mixed in. Most of the motors were
trashed or just missing. The I/O units were still there ! Just waiting to be plucked out.
I'm considering a new hobby.... removal, restoring, resale of OMC I/O units.
I'm just curious if there is any interest in this product line, used OMC electric stringer I/O
parts.
I'm also experimenting with converting a OMC electric stringer I/O setup to a Merc I/O.
I'm just not into fishing that much. I do like:
Boats, motors, water skiing, cruising, fixing things (boats, cars, trucks, computers).
