First fall winterizing, while pulling the batteries I found this wire tied in the bilge. The previous owner had all work done including winterizing and he has no idea. The end with the O rings resembles the lower unit shaft and I was thinking a plug for when units are off? There was only one though. This is my first vacuflush system? https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1L-z_72Oj54bDBYcGVhQndmbTg

No forgiveness needed endless seas... a little humor mixed with mystery always makes for a more interesting travel. I have since googled transducer plug and the boobie prize goes to cod. I appreciate the input. Guess it is there for a spare.. hope I will never need it.

I'm glad you were able to get to the bottom of this.

It's not a spare. It's a blank plug which you will use when you service the transducer while the boat is in the water.

Just be quick if you ever use it!

I used to do it at least once a season, when I had a boat with a speed transducer. Once in a while you need to Clear marine growth from the paddle wheel. This doo-hicky allows you to do it without SCUBA gear.
