Hi y'all,

We just bought a new 2006 Amberjack 290 at the end of November and will moor her at the Pilot House Marina in Woodbridge. She is still at Prince William Marine and we will commission "Moondancer" the first week of April 2007.

My wife and I look forward to meeting many of you over the coming months and years.

Welcome aboard. You'll be very happy with the Amberjack...
And you'll meet allot of fine people here...

Welcome aboard Sam and Brenda

Welcome aboard you will find a lot of good people here.

Hey Sam and welcome! What engines do you have in your 290AJ? You have found a good place here with lots of good people. Welcome! Kind regards, Brian

Welcome!
I am on my 3d Sea Ray, and I bought the first two from PWM.. Great folks. We berth at Marine Corps Base Quantico. I am sure we will see you out and about. I plan to cut the shrink wrap off and crank up the thundering cathedrals of torque in 103 days...but who is counting?

regards

Glad to have another AJ owner on board! Engines? Drives? Fill us in when you get the chance.

BTW...it's 19 degrees outside :smt089

Happy Holidays!

All,

Thanks for all the kind words.

Moondancer has the 350 Magnum MPI Horizon V-Drive engines along with the Raymarine L770 GPS/Fishfinder/Chartplotter system, remote control spotlight, 5KW generator, underwater swim platform lights and built in TV & antenna.

We completed our test drive on the 18th of November. We will fully commission her on 4 April 2007. She is now winterized and out of the water at Prince William Marine in Woodbridge, VA.

Brenda and I are really looking forward to the spring.

For Skip....can retired military personnel moor their boats at Quantico, too?

Happy holidays to all !!

Sam,
Absolutely. I am a newly retired Army Officer. I've berthed at Quantico for two years. Recommend you call and check slip availability now, as we renew Marina contracts in December of each year. I'd guess the Marina is 75% retired folks like me.

http://www.quantico.usmc-mccs.org/SemperFit_Rec/marina.htm

Quantico is a bare bones operation, but the docks are all floating docks and are less than 3 years old; the pump out station is easily accessed and free to slip holders; and they sell 89 octane (alas, no diesel)

Unfortunately, the marina is rather lax about the basics..adequate lines and fenders especially. it can get pretty rough at Quantico in a noreaster; I had a dilapidated ragbote break loose (dry rotted lines) and gouge the side of my 420 during Tropical Storm Ernesto...but this could happen at any marina. For $60 per foot per year (compare PWM at ~$140/ft/year) you can put up with a fair amount of stupidity.

Regards

Welcome Sam & Brenda....nice to have fellow "Virginians" on the board.....Great bunch of folks here......

Hi Sam, welcome, we just bought our 240 Sundancer at P.W. and have a slip at Occoquan Harbour Marina. We take delivery 20 Mar. and are really looking forward to it. Our last boat was a 2001 Bayliner Capri we kept on Lake Anna, and this is quite a jump up.

Hi Sam and Brenda,

My wife Jessica and I just bought a 280sd from Prince William Marina and are taking delivery at the end of March. We'll be staying at PWM and venturing out from there on "Good Juju". Hopefully we'll see you out on the Occuquan and Potomac.

Kevin
