Another newbie - 1st Sea Ray

Hello, I just purchased my 1st Sea Ray. It is a 1999 Sea Ray 210 Sundeck with 4.3L Mercruiser and Alpha I stern drive.

I was told the boat was last in the water August 2015, so I am prepared for quite a bit of work as I got it at a fairly decent price. I really love the hull design and all of the creature comforts it has in the interior and I am hoping that the electrical is not in too bad of shape as I am a bit of a gear head and think I can deal with the mechanics of the engine....I hope!

Welcome. Our first boat was an '01 210 Sundeck. Great platform for us to start with. Out every weekend with decent weather. Had a ton of fun with that boat!

Thanks for the welcome all. Got a question....this boat has been sitting for 6-7 months. How do I drain and clean the 50 gallon fuel tank? I don't know anything about the previous owners maintenance routines and don't want to take any chances.

LOL! Yeah I want to put it in the water soon but need to try and start it on the trailer first and check things out. I bought this as a project boat for only $1500.

The seller told me it had a 4.3L Mercruiser. I think it is a V8 because I can see 9 spark plug wires on the distributor cap. I stretched my arm down around the back of the engine and took a picture of the label with serial number. I think it says L329549. From. What I've been able research online it comes up as either a 5.0L or a 5.7L EFI. Is there any way to tell which one it is for sure?
