Another new cockpit table - 260DA

I like both tables, they are beautiful. What seems to me to be missing from both tables are drink holders. My rectangle table has them and they would be greatly missed if not included. I particularly like the front drink holder, can those be purchased anywhere?

I intentionally omitted recessed cup holders on my table because I just didn't see where they added a lot of utility. They would never be deep enough to prevent a tip-over while under way, so I just went without.

I guess an option would be to actually cut a hole that could then accept a stainless cup holder. That way, it would be deep enough. However, storing the table might be an issue.

I have the typical SS holders in my table and they work great under way in any conditions you would try to have a drink available. They also help when that a$$hole making a huge wake at the slip goes by and your dinner and drinks are on the table. They really help stop spillage and sliding off the table on vessels our size when 4 or more adults are at the stern and it drops a little at the stern.

Hmmm, yeah I could have done that but I didn't want to cut holes in the table. I'm working on another solution for cupholders in that area.

Todd, no ours uses the house water. I have the plastic SeaTech fittings and plan to tap into the hot. I can find the 15mm stub with metric threads to terminate the plastic. The trick is finding a reducer to match the metric with std plumbing npts.

Henry
I could not find the adapter either and cut the hose the old faucet used and stuck a fitting with the sawteeth inside the hose and hose clamped it.

I didn't want the cupholders either. The large flat surface is nice.

And Todd, what is the Nehalennia inlay made from? I've always been curious; it is a nice touch.

A buddy of mine has a laser. He did it with a laser. Turned out amazing. Here is a shot before I put the coating on.

Very nice table. I must admit....I really regret not keeping the tables Todd and Henry made for me when I sold my boat. They were truly amazing. I'm thinking that's why the boat sold so quickly. Good move on your upgrade! Looks great! Brian

This is what I came up with for a cupholder solution for that area of the cockpit. I was going to build something out of wood but in the end went with these stainless guys; wood was just too bulky looking. The access door still operates just fine, and the fold-down seat slides right under (not that we ever fold it down).

I like the location of those cupholders! The only place we have is at the cockpit sink, so having a couple of cupholders on the other side of the boat (where everyone is sitting) is a great idea. And it's there even if the table is not. Nice idea!

Where did you purchase them?

I got them from Defender. We really like the location as well; within reach yet out of the way.

Well, I saved this thread from last year as a guide because I liked Kilroy's table. I was going to make a table myself but don't have quite all of the woodworking tools needed so stopped in Monday to see the guys that built my custom kitchen cabinets a few years ago as we were extremely pleased with their work. They happened to have a piece of sapele that was enough and I was ok with the price so I left a template and expected a call sometime next week I got a call this morning that it was done. It's 22" x 34" x 1 3/4", I have to finish it and will get started on it this weekend. It has a slight imperfection in it which I knew about ahead of time and he did a good job minimizing it.

Kilroy, would you mind explaining your process with the interlux sealer and the marine light? Did you use the curing agent with the sealer, then apply the marine light, or???
Thank you, your table looks great.

Thanks. If I remember it correctly, I brushed on a coat of sealer followed by a couple of coats of Cetol Marine light. No curing agent used

As far a cup holders in the table. You could cut out the hole and secure straps (in a criss cross pattern) underneath the table. This way when you go to stow it they won't be in the way?
