Is it normal that Sea Ray's are not displayed at the National Power Baot Show in Annapolis next weekend? I was looking at boat brands, and didn't see SR. Did I miss it?

Mike

That would be very strange indeed. Clarks Landing displays the Sea Rays at Annapolis.

I would not count anything out these days. However, it was probably an oversight. Maybe they have not sent their check in, or sent in the list of boats or ???

Jim, the move in schedule has SeaRays moving in first. That makes sense since they are always at the very end of Ego Alley. It's gotta be Clarks Landing.

SR does get prime location for the show.
I know Formula has reudce the number of models that will be there and I think they may be even showing 08s....

I went to www.usboat.com for info about the show, searched the brands and didn't see SR. Maybe it's assumed? Anyway, I'm still going. Always fun to look!

Mike,

Clarks Landing is listed and they will have Sea Rays. Every year Clarks Landing has Sea Rays for Annapolis and MarineMax will have the Sea Rays at the Baltimore Boat show. Both are local Sea Ray dealers.

This is an email I just got from Clarks Landing.

Even though things are winding down on your end, they are just the opposite at Clarks Landing! Our Sales Team is getting ready for the hugely popular Annapolis Boat Show from October 15 - 18 and our Demo Days event the following weekend at our Shady Side Marina. I just hoping it's not a washout from the weather...was planning to go up Friday. The weather report for Thursday through Saturday not looking good to be walking around rainy and below 50 everyday.

Jim any deals for those of us that brave the weather...

The boating industry can’t catch a break. One of the biggest shows in our area and the entire weekend has been nothing but cold and rain.

We have had so much rain over the last four days the animals are starting to line up behind my boat in pairs….

We went up on Friday afternoon and planned to make a weekend of it. Rained Friday and Saturday with temps in the 40's. It sucked to be outside so we visited our son and hoped for a better day on Sunday. We just got back this evening from the show that this morning had a fire I believe at the dock masters building that knocked out the power to one of the big vendor tents. We did not get rained on but it was pretty raw. Stopped by and tried to see Jim. He had just got off the phone and said something about leaving the show right then. Did not want to delay him so I walked on down the pier. The vendors and dealers showing the boats were in pretty good spirits even though there were not many lookers.

The Tiara 380 open was junk for over 700K. The guy asked me what I thought and I told him the bed was to small the cabin height was to low and the captains chair was poor. Not what I was expecting. Saw the Searay's but did not go on any since they are at a lot of the other shows we go to and since we only had a day made the best of it.

Maybe next year.

What a miserable weekend (weather-wise)! We arrived in town on Friday and stayed through Sunday afternoon, going to the show each day. At least on Sunday the "stuff" vendors were able to open their tents. Over 2" of rain on Saturday alone. The fire and power outage resulting from the blown transformer did not help. Lots of nice boats but I am happy to say I still prefer the Sea Rays.

Don

The weather certainly didn't help last weekend's U.S. Powerboat Show as a nor'easter bore down on the Chesapeake, bringing rain and a biting wind during all four days of the annual event.
The positive that emerged, however, is that those who braved the weather were serious shoppers.
"The people that were here were here for a reason: to buy," show manager Dee Newman said this morning as organizers were breaking down the show.
John Martini, head of Martini Yacht Sales, the area Tiara and Marquis dealer, reported a signed contract on a new 50-foot Marquis and potential buyers for a Tiara 4300 Sovran and Tiara 3900 Open. Both prospects plan to sea-trial the boats next week, Martini said, and both have Sea Rays they wish to trade in.

Good to see despite poor attendance, some leads were developed, and some boats sold. Hopefully Ft. Lauderdale will be more positive for the industry.

Slooooooow day.

We went to the boat show in Annapolis on Sunday and it was a great day. No rain, no crowds either! Such a beautiful city too.
All in all a nice show. But still would like to see that 43' Sundancer and they didn't have it. Mostly SeaRay had smaller boats.
We saw this one Itallian number that was bank owned and the mark downs were big! lol. That is, if your pocketbook is also big. You can click the image to enlarge it. We saw a few offers like this :)

I went to the show on Friday as I had already made plans to take that as one of my "salary reduction" days. It was cold and rainy but I was mostly interested in the tent vendors. Did stop by the Sea Ray boats. Nice to be able to check out the big boats without a crowd. The sales people said the one advantage was that with the weather the people that did come by were either boaters already or seriously interested in boating.

That 3900 Open was extremely poor in my opinion as reported earlier in my other post. No electronics to speak of poor quality and fit in the cabin and not much going for it topside for an open that is suppose to be fish able. I bet JM was the guy who asked me how I liked it. I think that repo posted above was the one I looked at two years ago that had the disco lights and the crappy head room at the helm and all the black and gold finishings.
